John Cobbett is one of the great unsung guitarists of modern metal imo, some great stuff across Hammers of Misfortune, VHOL, Ludicra etc.

Random observation about current music culture.
While I think it's great that the 'album' has gained more relevance again in the past decade or so, even mainstream pop fans seem clued into actual albums by Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey etc.
From reading about music online I've noticed this strange trend pop up and its, generally younger people, judging albums by the amount of 'skips' they have, as in, "the new Kanye album is class, it only has like 4 skips"...surely if an album has not one but several tracks that are so bad you couldn't even bare to sit through them...then by definition it's a shit album

Atonement is at the top of the pack when it comes to post-Unholy Cult Immolation, the other recent ones I find just sort of blend in to each other but they knocked it out of the park with that one.

Hallas - Panorama
Heard these guys name floating about for a while, this is their new one, 70s style prog/hard rock, lots of energy, big melodies, good stuff.

I've heard good things about Dark before too, I should give it a go.
To my shame I've never watched anything by David Lynch so got stuck into Twin Peaks, first season is fantastic, second season starts pretty good but is going fairly downhill in the second half. Hopefully the film/third season are better.

I think Dave has a bit more of a physical clock counting down though, seems to be seriously struggling to play live from any videos I've seen in the past few years.

Well he's finally got his number 1 album on the US charts apparently.
I think it's the liner notes for the Countdown reissue, that it became his obsession after the Black Album to get one and basically shaped everything they did after that.
The album is shite but fair play to him I suppose.

Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters
I remember this album coming out a few years ago and getting rave reviews, it is fantastic have to say, for fans of Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush etc.

I enjoyed One Battle..., I'd actually agree with the comparison with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, enjoyable spectacles but probably wouldn't sit through either again.
Has anyone seen Sentimental Value yet? Missed it in cinema, big fan of Joachim Trier with The Worst Person in the World one of the best films of the past few years imo.

Classic band but they've always rated lower than both Metallica and Slayer to me due to their inconsistency even in their 'classic" period.
First three albums all have dodgy cover songs for example, KIMB and SFSGSW both have shitty production, not exactly Hell Awaits or Ride the Lightning, are they?
In saying that, while Metallica were the better thrash band, I do believe Megadeth made the better transition to 'melodic' HM with Countdown/Youthanasia.

I've been working on a traditional HM project the past year or so which has been creatively very exciting, was/am still hoping for it to become a proper band but that is proving a bit more difficult than expected.
Was hoping to have a demo out and be gigging by this summer but that would be ambitious, but still work goes on

Didn't know him personally but I believe the victim drank in Fibbers, remember seeing some appeals about it, very nice lad by all accounts.
The scumbag, with 24 priors, can randomly murder an innocent person, hide for six months, smile and wink while receiving his sentence, get 6 years and probably only serve half of it.
It's an absolute joke.
