Metal Discussion / Re: Iron Maiden's best album

Honestly could stick on any of the 80s albums and make an argument.

Piece of Mind? Not filled with hits but not a bad song on there imo, love the production too.

Watched the first episode of 'Half-Man', the new series from the lad who made Baby Reindeer.

Seems like it's going to be another extremely fucked up affair.

Well, who would have ever thought Brent Hinds would be discussed on Joe Rogan (with a Matt Pike mention no less), Brogan has no idea who they are but it's a humourous if not kinda sad story given it was a couple of weeks before Hinds died, gives a little insight into the state he was in.

Are High on Fire support at this?

I don't mind the bit of Green Lung I've heard, but would have thought High on Fire are a significantly bigger band.

The Drama - good film, Pattinson is great, would have never predicted the plot in a million years.

Send Help - New Sam Raimi film, kind of like had they got Sam Raimi to do a 2005 straight to dvd thriller, a bit of craic.

Watched a strange new film called The Plague last night, thought it was a horror going in and instead it was a very good, if not very depressing, thriller/drama.

Ya the remix of Ultramega Ok did wonders for it, Down on the Upside is good too but perhaps needed a bit of editing.

Cornell's first solo album is underrated too, sort of a Jeff Buckley vibe, but I reckon everything after that was an identity crisis, jumped on the supergroup train with Audioslave, made a few shite pop albums, and then back to Soundgarden when he ran out of options.

The Studio.

New Seth Rogen series, I wasn't expecting much going in but it's much better than I'd have thought.

Quote from: ldj on April 20, 2026, 12:39:16 PMWas at Tori Amos at the Bord Gais last night, no alcohol allowed in the auditorium, that will go down well with the metallers...

How is she live these days? Saw her in Vicar Street (coincidentally where I've seen Opeth twice) in 2005 and she was amazing. Unreal stage presence.
It was good, I've never seen her before, just from videos I'd say it's a bit more subdued than she was in the past but she is getting older to be fair.

At the venue they were checking bags going in but there were no patdowns, the naggin might be a goer.

No supports announced for this yet which is strange too.

In 'that's a bit mad' news of the day, the guitarist who got the boot from the band Turnstile has been done for attempted murder - he ran over the singer's dad with a car.

I tried to give the 2000s stuff a go a few weeks ago, couldn't get into them at all, remember thinking the opening track on Dance of Death was very good but other than that they're all very by the numbers.
