Yeah I liked it as well, brought back some of the levity from the early GOT seasons, never bothered with House of the Dragons as it just looks no craic at all.

I really liked 'Reflections' too but yeah, after that they stopped writing riffs and just played noodly arpeggios in every song, I always associate them with Pallbearer who similarly released two great albums and then thought they were a 'prog rock' band.

When Eternal Champion played here a few years back there were more than a few people there who had definitely came straight from the My Chemical Romance gig on the same day.
Now could be da's bringing their kids as a 'I'll bring you to my gig if you come to mine', or maybe there's a pop-punk to true metal pipeline I'm blissfully unaware of!

No interest in seeing the Foo Fighters but a hundred squids is fairly steep like, you'd think if they wanted to do something 'totally punk rock man' they'd take the hit and do it for a tenner.

Couple of the best solos ever on that one.

Didn't realise when I posted that yesterday it was the album's 36th anniversary, altering the future!

John Cobbett is one of the great unsung guitarists of modern metal imo, some great stuff across Hammers of Misfortune, VHOL, Ludicra etc.

Random observation about current music culture.
While I think it's great that the 'album' has gained more relevance again in the past decade or so, even mainstream pop fans seem clued into actual albums by Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey etc.
From reading about music online I've noticed this strange trend pop up and its, generally younger people, judging albums by the amount of 'skips' they have, as in, "the new Kanye album is class, it only has like 4 skips"...surely if an album has not one but several tracks that are so bad you couldn't even bare to sit through them...then by definition it's a shit album

Atonement is at the top of the pack when it comes to post-Unholy Cult Immolation, the other recent ones I find just sort of blend in to each other but they knocked it out of the park with that one.

Hallas - Panorama
Heard these guys name floating about for a while, this is their new one, 70s style prog/hard rock, lots of energy, big melodies, good stuff.

I've heard good things about Dark before too, I should give it a go.
To my shame I've never watched anything by David Lynch so got stuck into Twin Peaks, first season is fantastic, second season starts pretty good but is going fairly downhill in the second half. Hopefully the film/third season are better.
