Watched Ripley this week, starring Andrew Scott. Really enjoyed it. Nice and slow, beautifully shot, just very enjoyable to watch all round.

Really enjoyed it.
Beautifully shot is right.

Can't find anything else like it.

I gave up on it. Beautifully shot, absolutely, but utterly tedious for me. I may go back to it at some point, but I found it dull.

[Black Shepherd Carnage]

It's definitely and intentionally slow, but if you can wind down into its vibe that becomes a strong point.

Well that's exactly what I did with Detectorists. I didn't get it first time I tried to watch it. Then I threw it on again some time later and fell in love with it completely, so yeah, maybe I won't be so quick to write this off. Might need to be in a certain headspace for it to work. Or maybe it's dogshit masquerading as art.... let's find out!
