Yeah really enjoyed A Real Pain but not quite convinced it was Oscar worthy for Culkin, he was good but felt very much like he was playing a variation of himself/the character from Succession.

Watched Mickey 17 the other night, new film from the director of Parasite, it's enjoyable but a bit all over the place, Pattinson is great though.

You've just read my mind, I was only a flight home yesterday and was thinking what sort of wanker reclines their seat back, could see several people uncomfortable because of the selfish people in front.

Unfortunately I'll probably be away for this.

Just a heads up for anyone though, last week Pentagram (or Bobby really) became a bit of an internet meme on social media, could sell out quick because people want to see the 'crazy old guy' fronting a metal band.

Had a look on their IG page and two days ago the other three lads were at an event talking about Leviathan with Dailor sporting a bruiser under the eye, probably safe to say Hinds didn't take the sacking well.

Time will tell but the side projects I've heard from any of them have been very poor to say the least, their success could very well be lightning in a bottle.

Not sure if SVT can play lead guitar like that, Scott Kelly was probably on his way to a permanent guest vocal slot a la Mark Lanegan in QOTSA if he didn't do whatever he was doing to his family.

Be interesting to see who they get, they have a gig this weekend apparently.

Pete Adams, formerly of Baroness, would do it justice imo, similar chicken picking style, can sing and would give them an energy boost live.

Think he left Baroness to focus on family but I'd imagine Mastodon could be too lucrative to turn down.

Or they could share oul Zakk with Pantera, say a few on here be delighted  :P

Bill said in an interview a while back he has basically been half clocked out of the band since Crack the Skye (which Brent wrote most of).

His playing is amazingly unique, but when playing live he has been holding them back for a while imo, and how contributions on record have become dwindling with each album since CTS.

Still a bit of a shock as his playing is so synonymous with the bands style though.

That was a great gig, I've seen Bill talk about the finances behind touring and I don't get it, being a bigger band + on a major label they're surely raking in far more money than their peers in High on Fire or Baroness for example, and those bands don't seem to have any problem touring.

Seen clips from their Leviathan anniversary tour and they had a keyboard player which doesn't even feature on the album, maybe knocking stuff like that + the big screens/animations would be a good place to start.

That gig with Scott Kelly was class, as much as I love them, I still maintain had they had a consistent vocalist who could do it live they would have been the biggest metal band of the 21st century, they had the underground cred, the acclaim of the critics, just couldn't deliver live to grab that festival headliner gravitas.

Speaking of Megadeth, was only looking at a new vinyl copy of RIP in town the other day and was wondering whether it was the original mix or remaster, Clink and Normal were listed as the producer/mixer on the back, and no reference to any remaster on it, must pick it up if it's the og. Megadeth's back catalogue is a bit of a mess actually.

"There was no kosher wine David".

Don't give enough of a shite about Disturbed to give a shite about yer mans politics, just sad to see Megadeth stooping to opening for said shit band.

I think MegaDave's prolific output over the years (compared to Metallica/Slayer anyway) ultimately worked against him, the other two can cash in on the nostalgic or casual fan with material that vaguely resembles/self-plagiarises their classic material once a decade, followed by a highly lucrative 'might be your last chance' world tour, whereas Dave has spent nearly 3 decades churning out mostly poor albums every 2-3 years like clockwork.

You can admire the work ethic, but he could have really just taken the best three tracks each from United Abominations, Endgame, Thirteen etc to actually make a decent record.

Only time I got to see Megadeth was at the gig with LOG and I thought they were good (but that was 10 years ago now, fucking hell!), Dave looks in rough shape judging by recent videos.

Seeing them opening for such a shit band is fairly sad though.

I've been on an Opeth kick the last few months, would have just been a casual fan before but have gotten well into them. A great, diverse body of work, other than Heritage being shite and Pale Communion a bit meh.

I think any band that gets grouped under the 'prog' umbrella inevitably gains a bit of an annoying fanbase leading to the band themselves being hated on.
