Nice one on shoegaze:

Nothing too indepth, but a decent overview of the 'scene', such as it was.

Watched the Dio one tonight. Deadly. Loads of great things about it, but one that was particularly appreciated was that it was Dan Lilker in there representing metal's extreme side.

I watched about an hour of that on Youtube a couple of weeks ago and it seems to have disappeared from there now. Where did you watch if from?

I watched the Sinéad O'Connor one, Nothing Compares last night. It was alright, covered the ground up to the Madison Square Garden booing fairly well and then just ended. Bit shite that Prince's crowd wouldn't let them use that song, though.

I watched this on the Hacienda over the weekend. Pretty good now with all the right talking heads.

Watched the King Crimson one tonight. Not what I was expecting. Odd little documentary, intriguing in places, as much psychologically as musically. Understated overall. Not sure of its appeal to non fans.

where did you watch that? I'd give it a go

Watched th Dio and KC ones a few weeks ago. I very much got the impression that both Dio and Fripp were assholes in the pursuit of their goals. Thought both docs were enjoyable enough.

Watched one about The Rainbow bar on youtube last week. Also alright.

Found a torrent of it Necro.

Dio and Fripp both come off in their respective documentaries more or less as I was expectng them to, including the control freak dimension. Interesting though that Dio's personality comes across as more of a traditional blue collar, tradesman style work ethic mixed with old school integrity, whereas Fripp portrays himself as more of an ascetic type; discipline as an accomplishment rather than just the proper way of doing things. If I had to choose, just on an interpersonal level (i.e. lack of necessary talent to do either notwithstanding), I think I'd prefer to be in a band with Dio rather than Fripp.

That's exactly it. I think you'd stand more of chance in that one anyway.
