Speaking of Bad Brains, if it hasn't already been mentioned, I enjoyed this doc about them:

Cool, I haven't seen that. Will give it a go

I watched the Woodstock 99 documentary thereat the weekend. Ah  lads, what a circus that was. Insane what went on! Highly recommend it

I saw the first half of it. Grim.

It's crazy sh*t

So badly organised, & an element of the crowd were 'mental' / scum

(Don't want to give anything away for those that have not seen it)

Keep in mind, a lot of people had a ball
But others, far from it

I was wondering - do ye reckon a lot of rapes/sexual assaults went on during the original Woodstock, but just weren't reported? I mean, no way to know I guess...also I guess the drugs were different 30 years later. Good doc but could have been an hour long I thought

The HBO one, which is only an hour or so long, touches on some of what is not usually mentioned about the original Woodstock; hundreds of overdoses, two deaths (by misadventure of one form or another), lack of facilities, food, etc. Don't know about sexual assaults, but you're probably right. For all the blame that's put on Limp Bizkit, yadda yadda, it seems pretty clear to me that if the crowd hadn't turned on the venue more than 24 hours after LB's set, burning it to the crowd and obliging the national guard to come in and shut it down, if that hadn't happened, if it had only been people crowd surfing on plywood ripped from the soundstage on the Saturday and if nothing of note had happened on the Sunday, then, tbh, there'd be no documentary and no hullabaloo being made over it, despite the shit show of the organization, and even, unfortunately, despite all the sexual assaults and rapes. In media terms, none of that is sensational enough.

Found the promoter ripping into Fred Durst for stirring things up odd, considering he didn't say a thing about the Chili Peppers coming out to play Fire for an encore. Especially when they were asked to go back out to try calm stuff down

The new Gary Numan Documentary "Resurrection" is worth the watch too for any fans. It's up on Now Tv

I suppose if you volunteer for the blame everyone will be happy to give it to you. I wonder does he (Durst) genuinely think he is at fault or is it just another way of being in the spotlight for him. I suppose who cares as well ha ha.

Didn't realise there was a Dio doc on the way, hopefully it's good but I'll always be happy with anything Dio related

Woodstock 99 was a good watch. I don't like the way they tried to portray Fred Durst as the Antagonist, and then omit the mention (and footage) of RATM burning the fucking American flag on stage after Limp Bizkit's set!!

Also it's a bit weird that there is no mention of Metallica, the world's most commercially successful metal band, when they headlined the Saturday after RATM? Especially since one kid apparently died in a mosh pit during their set.
