It's a rock formation in the Antarctic which, through millions of years of water and iceflow, in the area of the most inhospitable weather on this planet, has formed a seemingly unusual shape. I say seemingly, because very little of the rock surface is exposed there... for now.  Never lose sight of just how deadly, in the traditional sense, Antarctica is. It's not a place lads can stand around a hole, leaning on shovels. It's also not a place you can cart in tonnes of raw materials and JCBs and dig an underground fortress. Even then, you wouldn't leave the door open 

Edit-> if I was going to make a guess, I'd say it looks a bit like a lava tube, have seen them in Lanzarote. As the area has been covered in ice for quite a long time, it's possible the receding ice levels are uncovering things usually hidden and it's not a place man has really explored and documented in a real sense. This is a long way of saying it's natural and not man-made nor an alien base.

Related recommended reading - Captain Scott by Ranulph Feinnes. Only someone who knows the level of suffering Antarctica offers humans, first hand (sorry), has really done justice to what those poor bastards went through. It's a great, great read.

Yeah that's more like the sort of thing I was wondering, ie what sort of natural process throws up an anomaly like that. Not like the supposed pyramids there that are obvious parts of a mountain range when zoomed out, this doesn't fit with the landscape around it really. Lava tube was the closest thought I had too, not secret nwo hq or all that.
