Nicely put. It's a bloody good listen. Skill, atmosphere and image all come together beautifully to make something very special. Vektor had that hype label thrown at them too. Seems like a handy way for people to set boundaries on what is acceptable or not, instead of actually just listening to the thing.

Well to put it another way then, I'm not hearing what's made them widely lauded, or what makes so many people think its a special album. Eh, maybe I'll just give it another listen or two, see if it clicks a bit more, or maybe they're just not really for me

Yeah, I know what you mean. Just think about other people's views as little as possible and have your own experience of it, whatever that may be: "You are the hero!" as Jackson and Livingstone put it  :abbath:

Eaten back to life. I feckin love this album.

Like an Everflowing stream.  1st listen today.

Gorguts - Colored Sands
Cradle of Filth - Vempire
Cradle of Filth - Dusk and Her Embrace
Sepultura - Roots
Ihsahn - After
Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors

An absolute classic among a slew of death metal landmark albums released in 1991. While not quite as good Massive Killing Capacity also well worth a listen. 25 years old this year and has aged remarkably well.

You seem to have accidentally skipped Indecent And Obscene, which is just behind LAES in quality. Both essentiall, all-out death metal classics.

Maybe the fact that the first two Dismember songs I heard courtesy of a cassette recording were Collection by Blood and On Frozen Fields means I've a softer spot for MKC than IAO. It was the second ever album I purchased on cassette and played it till the Citroen AX chewed it up. But you're right-you can't really go worng with any of their early to mid 90's material. To be fair Death Metal did have its moments too but the 1991-95 period were always going to be challenging to surpass.

Myrddraal - Blood on the Mountain

So far today...
Slayer- Hell Awaits
Possessed - Seven Churches
Voivod - Dimension Hatross

Later is gonna have to be Cultes Des Ghoules, either Haxan or Henbane.

A Swarm of the Sun - The Rifts

Fairly decent post metal.

Today was
Sepultura -Beneath The Remains, Dante XXI, Machine Messiah, Quadra
Gang Green - Another Wasted Night
D.R.I. - Four of a Kind

On a similar buzz to Juggz, today I took in Beneath the Remains, Arise, Chaos A.D., Machine Messiah, The Mediator Between the Head and Hands mist be the Heart, Quadra.

Near the end of Under a Pale Grey Sky. Ferocious album. Pretty sure Max quit the band after this gig. Must've been a special show to be at.

Nattefrost - Blood and Vomit.

Interesting album but not one I would be able to listen to regularly.
