Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness

For about a year after this came out it rarely left the environs of the CD player and as a consequence it got overplayed and eventually shelved for a long period.
Back with it this past few days though and apart from appreciating it afresh there is an accompanying wave of nostalgia for those Temple Bar gigs at the time.  Serious buzz back then for the lads, seemed like there were people flocking from every corner of Europe and beyond to catch them performing their new stuff on home soil.
Talk about a yearning to get to Dublin for a gig again. If the proposed show with Mourning Beloveth  comes to pass it'll be a fucking pilgrimage.

It doesn't ruin good music.  Good music is good music regardless of what you think of the people making it.  Kind of better off knowing as little as possible about those who make the music that you like,  is my current position.

Big nostalgia buzz listening to my first Maiden album 'No Prayer'. So damn good, haven't listened to it properly in possibly 20 years. If they released it these days people would be shouting it from the rooftops. As it is, much like Somewhere in Time, extremely underrated.
