Pantera- Cowboys from Hell. I dug out my old tape. No cover, the print entirely gone from the tape and CFH tip-exed on but it's still just about hanging in there. I should grab this on CD at this stage. It was lined up and ready to go on Side B so kicking in with Shattered- oof!

Edit. All of side B is fucking top quality. The Sleep... magic!

Never heard this before and it sounds unreal.

I see there was 5 versions yer man did? Is that what you're listening to? 1.0 through to 5.0, quietest to loudest mix of the bass. Never heard them before either. Went straight for 5 myself   :abbath: Does sound class. There'd be worse plans for the coming week than to compare all of them! Nice one.

Yeah that's the ones I'm listening to. The 3.0 one seems to be the best mixed one. Makes a massive difference and I'd say it's as close to the originals as we are going to get at this stage.

I haven't given this album as much attention over the past couple of years as I probably should have. I think it's the mastering that puts me off a little bit. It's so loud it's hard going on the earballs. I need to get back to it now and give it some love.

It's a great album.

The first track is like It should be heard in an arena. It's brilliant.
The last few days have been dedicated to the latest Gjendød album.
It's so so good. It's like they put the ferocity into the last 2 records and went for a real depth of songwriting on this one.
I love it. Do they play live?

No. They are a studio band. I think the new one is possibly my favourite. It's up there.

Iron Angel: Hellish Crossfire (1985)

Early thrash release from Germany, quality.

Porcupine Tree: Fear Of A Blank Planet

Going back a few years but it's a magnificent album.

R.E.M.: Document - mighty stuff.

Gotta love that album cover, the missus loves seeing it up on my cave wall  ;)
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

I've been on planet Sigh the last few days. Infidel Art, Hangman's Hymn and Shiki among others. It never fails to amaze me how he can throw in the weirdest shit imaginable and still create unbelievable albums.

I was revisiting Out of Time, Automatic for the People, and Monster last week. Don't know this one so well, so must give it a go now that I'm already in the mindframe.

But not right now, for DHL have finally just arrived with The Pact!

I think this is the best thing they ever did. Harrison's drumming on it is out of this world.

Yeah but the lyrics are truly awful teen angst of the lowest order. Other than that I think it's not bad. In Absentia is where it's at anyway or maybe The Sky Moves Sideways but no it's In Absentia.

Bloody Kisses on here. Fuckin Spectacular, can't be imitated absolute one off of an album and band. So pussy and yet heavier than so many other things

Currently running through the Gorgoroth discography. When it's good it's very good, the off centre stuff is brilliant but a lot of the last album could be nearly called metalcore.

Nirvana - Incesticide. Ok so it's not a proper album and I'd live without Sliver and Been a Son but other than that it's fucking great. Often copied, never equalled.
