Quote from: Anvil on June 02, 2025, 08:45:18 AMOpeth - Morningrise (been an age since I listened to this, but what an album).
Iron Maiden - No Prayer for the Dying (first Maiden record I bought on the day of release - Title track and Holy Smoke are seriously underrated tracks. But if I never heard Bring Your Daughter again... Not sure I would care).
Christian Mistress - Children of the Earth (one of my favourite albums from this year so far.  Just good old honest catchy Heavy Metal).

The vocals on that Christening Mistress are way too weak for me to be able to get through the whole thing.

For some reason I own four copies of Aqualung on CD, and barely know anything JT bar that

NP - Blotted Science - "The Machinations of Dementia", "The Animation of Entomology". Ron Jarzombeck is truly a mad guitar scientist.

Deep Purple - In Rock
Judas Priest - Painkiller

Iron Maiden - No prayer for the dying
Ulver - Nattens Madrigal
Forgotten Woods - As the wolves gather

Death - Symbolic - first time in a long time, seeing if I wanted to pick up the reissue for nostalgia purposes but it just doesn't hit for me anymore, maybe tastes have changed or maybe I wore it out too much in school, it's lost its magic.

Naglfar - Vittra - put this on as I read a comment saying it was a minor classic after never hearing a note of them. Didn't make it through, sounded like what I imagine children of Bodom would sound like if they made a 90s melodic black metal album. I can see the appeal but a no from me.

Jeez I'm hard to please today

The only post-Human Chuck worth listening to for me. A nice return to a more straightforward style, even if the vocals are a bit ropey. It's not a patch on the first four obviously but very decent nonetheless. I must pick up the reissue actually.

Smoulder - Dream Quest Ends
Screamaker - BloodKing
Dimmu Borgir - For All Tid (had this on repeat, such a good album).

Entombed: Left Hand Path

Came out 35 years ago today. Fuck I feel old.

35 years wow, I feel those years being the vintage I am, had to throw it on.

Burzum- Belus. Great album.

Bongripper - Satan Worshipping Doom

Instrumental stoner doom that's weirdly uplifting, especially the black metal riff on Satan.

Slayer - South Of Heaven
Morbid Angel - Formulas
Satanic Warmaster - Obferblut
