Sodom - Persecution Mania 9/10
Favourite Sodom out for it's monthly spin. New one out at the end of next month.

Necrovorous - Planes Of Decay 9/10
I picked this up from Invictus purely on the basis it came out on Dark Descent back in 2017. Very late to this then but well rewarded with a gem of fetid old school Death shat straight from the bowels of the first two Autopsy albums. Can hear a bit of primitive Tiamat and Hooded Menace in here too. Savage stuff all around.

Beholder - In The Temple.Of The Tyrant 8.5/10
Recent debut from the Philidelphians blends Epic Doom and majestic Power Metal delivering a memorable album that should see End of Year honours in more than a few quarters. Like Atlantean Kodex meeting Demons And Wizards on the battlefield and settling their differences over a few ales around a bonfire rather than getting involved with all that nasty blood and guys stuff.

Phrenelith - Ashen Womb 8/10
New one from the Danes who certainly know their way around a writhing, uncoiling Immolation riff or too and it's a well put together album this, each track has it's own character which keeps you engaged without succumbing to the wall of noise effect that many of their peers employ.

Insineratehymn - Irreverence Of The Divine 8/10
Astonishing that anyone would appropriate this most awful of Bentonisms as a band name but such is Metal and this proved to be a worthy pick up, my first from the band, their third overall, a hard hitting, no frills American Death Metal attack which of course draws heavily from Deicide  along with the likes of Morbid Angel and Monstrosity.

Megadeth - Endgame 8/10
2009 and MegaDave has brought in Chris Broderick on axe duties resulting in an album full of hooky tracks and twin guitar duelling that harked back to the titanic face offs between Mustaine and Friedman on R.I.P.

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Must check out that Beholder, sounds right up my street.

 Iotunn - Access All Worlds
Cradle of Filth - Midian
Magnum - Here Comes the Rain (very appropriate title for the current weather)
Grief Collector - En Delirium
Gatekeeper - East of the Sun

Exhumed: Gore Metal
Judas Priest:Ram It Down
Conflict:The Ungovernable Force

Yeah I'd say you'd like it Anvil from what I can tell. The vocalist is from Judicator who also had a good one out this year. The man has some good pipes.
And yeah, that rain is well and truly here now, it's a monsoon outside here. A good old fashioned Irish Summer's day.

Oranssi Pazuzu full discography since yesterday.

Anathema - A Natural Disaster
Paradise Lost - Believe In Nothing

A very weird one for Paradise Lost.... some great songs but some woeful shite on it too

Mithras - On Strange Loops.

A band I've always had a (don't quite) love/(don't quite) hate relationship with.

Their 3rd overall? S/T, Legion, OUTC and Serpents were all before it.
