I never got into Type O when I was growing up for some reason. I enjoyed the Black No. 1 video when I saw it on Headbanger's Ball, but kind of dismissed them as a bit of a novelty act -  I was into cooler stuff like Korn!

Someone recently recommended this album to me, and I'm loving it. I ended up buying the Roadrunner collection, and Dead Again. Can't wait to dig into the discography.

Jaysus you're in for a treat!! I would fair love to be hearing some new Type O so I would

I've been listening to World Coming Down repeatedly. It's a masterpiece. Gave Life Is Killing Me a spin as well, it's very good but not in the same league as World Coming Down.

The Roadrunner boxset is arriving today so I'm going to give the earlier albums some attention.

Bloody Kisses, October Rust and World Coming Down are the holy trinity there for me, but Origin Of The Feces is also class

Godflesh: Streetcleaner

Came out 35 years ago today, still their benchmark. By sheer coincidence I happen to be wearing the T-shirt today.

Also released the same day - Terrorizer: World Downfall, which will be going on next. Some day for Earache, and extreme music in general.

Spotted that this morning, two fairly groundbreaking albums!.

I can't say i was ever a huge Godflesh fan,but I remember getting my hands on Terrorizer WD when I was around 15!,was obsessed with it.Still spin it regularly!

Streetcleaner was my introduction to them, just after it was released. Hated it at first (I'd been told it was death metal, it's very not) but when I eventually came around to it, it became a favourite. Worth sticking with and their discography is so varied that you're bound to find something pleasing.

The Terrorizer is fantastic, the only album of theirs worth bothering with really.

Quote from: Giggles on November 10, 2024, 06:54:48 PMMoonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle. This came on autoplay while listening to some YouTube. Symphonic kind of black metal, it's magical.

I have the two EPs they released "Piercing Through The Frozen Eternity" and "Nightwind: The Conqueror From The Stars" and think they are both great, especially Nightwing.  Really need to buy the full length.

Upon first listening yesterday, I preferred Nightwind over Piercing, but I prefer the newer one over them both. Melodies galore  :abbath:

Culling the herd at the moment for the End of Year list so it's 2024 releases only from here on out..

Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere 9/10
The bookies favourite to sweep the boards this year and I've only two or three that might topple it at this stage. Every listen blows me away.

Wrathprayer - Enkoimeterion 8/10
12 years is a hell of a long time between albums but you can forgive it when the result is something as nasty and savage as this.

Vulture - Sentinels 8/10
Keeping the fires of Traditional Heavy Metal burning bright this was real fist raising stuff from these boys who get better each time out.

Darkthrone- It Beckons Us All 7.5/10
It took a while for this to grab me but I've come to appreciate it's more contrary nature in comparison to it's more straightforward predecessors.

Nachtmystium - Blight Privilege 7/10
Checked out this online the other day, a safe and solid return and will be purchasing but not likely to make the cut for me.

Cosmic Putrefaction - Emerald Fires Atop The Farewell Mountain 7/10
This one will probably be favoured by many this year and it's a remarkable work by one man, I suppose a lazy shout would be a 'more brutal Obscura', it may just fall short for me though now it's time to get ruthless and it's not a particularly favourite genre. The cover art alone would warrant a vinyl purchase.

Didn't even know Nachtmystium had something new out. I'll have to check that out this evening. I love most of their stuff.

Now playing: Deftones - S/T.

Still think it's their best but it just isn't scratching the right itch this minute. Think they've something new out soon as well but I just don't know what they'd have to offer these days that would be exciting. Like good songs yeah, but I doubt they'll ever be surprising again.

Ah well, the first 5 are golden

Yeah, just out, I like it and if you like their others you'll be grand with it too I'd imagine. Seems to be some on point lyrics on there regarding the current state of their country.

16 Horsepower - Secret South.

Edwards might be as mad as a balloon but he's tantamount to a genius. Almost flawless album.

Moonlight Sorcery - Nightwind: The Conqueror From the Stars
Bat - Axestasy
Demoniac - So it Goes
Judas Iscariot - To Embrace The Corpse Bleeding
Sorcerer - In the Shadow of the Inverted Cross

The new Cure on  endless repeat.

Megadeth: Peace Sells... & So Far...

Original versions obviously, minus the covers.

I listened to Slow, Deep and Hard, and Dead Again yesterday. SDAH is good, but I don't think I'll return to it too often. Dead Again is very good, it could have done with some trimming but there are some great tunes on there.

I'm saving Bloody Kisses and October Rust for the weekend when I can give them my full attention.

NP Sørgelig - We, The Oblivious

Tribulation - Sub Rosa In Aeternvm
Moonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord of the Thrones Castle
Cathedral - Forest of Equilibrium (been far too long since I played this)
