Fuck it I'll give that a go this evening and see altogether. The idea is after catching on in my mind now. Have to go to a 50th birthday to show face first and the tunes are guaranteed to be fuckin awful so I'll need something after that I reckon!

Quote from: Bürggermeister on November 09, 2024, 05:08:33 PMLanegan was a fucking heroin ghost at this stage. They did a couple of songs on Later, the Jools Holland thing, and he looks whiter than milk. Nothing to do with the oul cancer sticks

The little bollix was lying then! And I was naive enough to think the fags made people cool. Between him and fuckin Kurt Cobain the two heroin loving bastards they both had me convinced it was the fags

Fucking Josh Homme on guitar too, but you see what I mean about Lenegan being like a ghost, crazy times

Barrett Martin is a fucking great drummer, too.

Apart from Morbid Tales...

Mindfunk - Dropped

I fucken love this album. Everman in the right ear, Svitek in the left, fucking lovely.

Hooked on the new Cure... unreal.

The only way that the fags can do that to a lad is if it's his first one ever and the sixth years are after making him inhale every drag out of two Major one after the other.

I'm thinking there might have been something else bothering him at the time

Between that and the Chat Pile I just can't get enough of them. The Cure album has me listening to the rest of their collection just to give me a break from putting that one on so many times in a row. The guitar playing in particular is really something else

Mark Lanegan/Screaming Trees constant rotation here. The man had/has one of my favourite voices in music.

The solo stuff, particularly - Winding Sheet, Whiskey..., Field Songs are golden. The couple of ST albums from around 90-92 are best for me too.

Any better epic doom metal album than this?

Spine tingling every time!

Only matched for me in terms of epicness and uniqueness by Solstice.

Motörhead- Iron Fist.
Motörhead- Orgasmatron.

Edit. Despite now owning an old version of Another Perfect Day on vinyl and the 40 year CD edition, the 40 year LP edition keeps popping into my head. The 40 year anniversary Iron Fist LP and CD are fucking beauts so I might have to pull the trigger on the APD LP... such a ripper of an album.

Sigrblot - Blodsband

MGLA - Presence

Macabre Omen - Gods Of War

Feanor - Power of the Ancient Ones
Church of Misery - Born Under a Mad Sign
Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
Queen - A Night at the Opera

Three absolute crackers there. That MO is so epic, love it.

Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere. First time I've sat down with this and had a gander at the lyrics. It's a trip.

Moonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle. This came on autoplay while listening to some YouTube. Symphonic kind of black metal, it's magical.
