Cannibal Corpse - Kill

I never got the appeal of CC when I was a young buck discovering death metal. I always found them a bit dull compared to the likes of Morbid Angel.
Started watching Centuries of Torment last night after seeing it mentioned on the documentaries thread and and decided to give the Corpsegrinder era a go. Fuck me, Bloodthirst and Kill are savage albums.

The start of The Time To Kill is Now is deadly.

Crawl - Altar Of Disgust , stream on bc..ticking every box for me anyway

Van der Graaf Generator - Still Life, Pawn Hearts.
Caravan - The Land of Grey and Pink.
Soft Machine - Bundles.
Sharon Van Etten - Are We There.

Ten Ton Slug - Colossal Oppressor
Horn - Daudswiärk
Slidhr - White Hart

I've been revisiting some oddball Judas Priest albums too, to see if they might change my opinion of them after listening to the new album quite a bit...

Ram It Down... I do have a soft spot for this album, but in general it's just not great. Not getting any better with time, at all.

Jugulator...
Still kinda like it but again, not aging well.

Demolition...
Couple of god tracks but ultimately a bloated mess. Trying to sound modern at the time and just falling flat on it's face.

Redeemer of Souls...
What were they thinking. Bar one or two moments, it's just dull as fuck. Stale riffs, terrible production that makes it all sound like a demo or pre-production take.

Had Kill on for the first time yesterday after watching the show/doc that I posted in the doc thread and enjoying the songs from it but the album did nothing for me.

Bloodthirst is great. While I'll dip in and out of the rest and check out the new tunes, and often enjoy them, that seems to be my cut off.

Midnight - "Let There Be Witchery"

Alastor - "Onwards And Downwards"

Morbid Angel - Blessed Are The Sick
Meliah Rage - Kill to Survive
King Crimson - Red

Skepticism - Ordeal
Griftegard - Psalm Bok
Solitude Aeturnus - Through the Darkest Hour
Pagan Altar - Judgement of the Dead
Mitochondrion - Archaeaeon
Adorior - Author of Incest
Anal Vomit - Demoniac Flaggelations

Immense stuff altogether!

N.P. - DR. MASTERMIND - Dr. Mastermind (1986)

Megadeth - Peace Sells
Metallica - Master Of Puppets

There most definitely was something in the water in 1986

BACKWATER - Revelation (1984)

VENOM - Cast In Stone (1997)

Nirvana - In Utero 30th anniversary mix. The guitar sounds great on this. Great to have the few B-sides tacked on as well to stretch it out a bit

WARFARE - The Lemmy Sessions (2023)

The new Deicide album is great.
