Was just listening to DEP - Miss Machine and it struck me for the first time that the album title could be a play on the term Hit Machine rather than referring to some bird or something. Never really thought about it at all tbh and now everything has changed and I'm like Mickey Rourke at the end of Angel Heart... 'I know who I am, I know who I am....'

Funny how these things can just strike at times. It's only taken that thought (check back cover) 19 years to make it's way through.

Lisa Bonet, now she really was a hit machine in Angel Heart!  :-* :abbath: (Abbath standing in for voodoo imagery there)

Yes she most certainly was!

Is body positivity just an excuse for an unhealthy lifestyle?

They're dying. Do what you want I suppose, but having a go at lads for going to the gym etc 'unless the motivation is the right one' is ridiculous.

Great piss take by Double B.

Just watching Digging For Britain here and there's a lad in a Burzum longsleeve onscreen frequently. I wonder will the professionally offended brigade pick up on it and have an oul' complain?

Random thought, the album Painkiller by Judas Priest improves greatly after the opening title track.

Threw on a fry this morning, big pot of coffee, the lot. Singing away to myself in the kitchen and all's well until I notice one of the dogs cringing in the corner. Jesus, I knew I was tone deaf but I didn't think I was that bad.

For billions of years the universe existed with no living entity present to observe it. How can something exist without an observer? What does that even mean? A tree falls in a forest... The kind of paradoxes that give me the utter willies.

I'm currently trying to get my head around time apparently not existing before the "big bang" and the whole spacetime concept...

Haha yeah. Time itself, according to physics, appears to be a very weird and counter-intuitive phenomenon. Give Carlo Rovelli's The Order of Time a read.

If time just measures change in the universe then a time before time (d'oh!) must mean what, a pause? A total and complete stillness between epochs of activated spacetime?

And then if there is a pause where time cases to exist, how long does it go on for? What is the difference between eternity and 10 to the minus 33 of a second if there is no way to measure it...

And no mind there to observe and process the information. God's head must have been melted.

I'll give that "The order of time" a look. Love that type of stuff. "The universe in your Hand" is another fantastic read about the cosmos.

I'd have thought that was the type of thing god absolutely lives for
