Moby - Little Idiot.

Couldn't be nicer on a bright and cold Winter's afternoon. Wrapped up warm after a nice smoke walking around the park. Bit of crossover with the simple pleasures

I don't know The Top or Head on the Door. I'll pick them up on due course.

Two excellent albums indeed. I'm going to throw on The Top straight away after the reminder

New Protomen album (Act III) came out today (17 years after the last one...) if anybody interested.

Rock opera vibe based off the Megaman games.

Here's the best jumping off point I reckon - from Act II:

Insomnia has led me to listening to The Holy Bible for the second time today (yesterday/today). Such a killer album, I really must pick up a physical copy of it. Also had Everything Must Go on yesterday.

Showing my age, I recall buying the  Motown Junk 7' and liking You Love Us but never really got my teeth sunk in. Must check out the first album.

I hated them at first, saw them playing You Love Us at the IRMAs and thought they were a bunch of gobshites. I still don't like the debut but the next few were mighty.

BSC - there's a reissue of The Holy Bible on CD (20th anniversary, I think) that has a different mix as a bonus disc. Worth a listen for a different take on it.

The 10th or 20th anniversary, can't remember here but have it at home, has the American mix, Dave Jerden did it, I think, and a decent DVD of stuff from that era, mix of interviews and live material. The original mix is all you need, to be honest. Raw as fuck and all the better for it. The Jerden mix smooths off many of the rough edges and takes away from it, for me. Savage, savage album, an all-time great.

Yeah the US mix is far too "rawk". Pointless altogether.

Shout out to one of the boys in my Irish class circa 1998. Teacher was calling the roll, he stands up and confirms his presence, and says "but Sir, do you know who isn't here? Richie Edwards, but I can confirm his presence in our hearts"

My Youtube history tells me I previously got halfway through the US mix and then presumably decided to switch back to the original. Will give another go now while chipping away at a few things.

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible.
New Order - Movement, Power, Corruption and Lies.
Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring.

Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I might See

Been listening to this one multiple times a day for a couple of weeks now. It's so hypnotic.

Beach House - Bloom
Popped up on some list about indie albums giving it a go. Enjoyable so far.

I liked their debut at the time, haven't heard it since though.
