Devotion was the album that floated through my radar. Still dig it, never went looking further though. Generally have one turn-to album each from that whole clique (Beach House, Beirut, Grizzly Bear, etc.) and that does me.

I remember their name from around the time they first came out but never went back to them.

Don't know Beirut but Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear is great.

XTC - Skylarking
Talking Heads - Fear of Music

Skylarking is one of their best, amazing record altogether.

Swans - The Great Annihilator

One of their finest in my opinion. I was prompted to throw it on having watched the excellent documentary 'Sound and Chaos: The Story of BC Studio'.

Sounds interesting.

Cracking album alright.

Just watched that documentary, nice shout. A few of my favourite albums were recorded there, it turns out.

Ya, watched it as well. Seems like a nice guy and enjoyable viewing.

Tad - 8 Way Santa

Just some nice straight up heavy rock.

Great album. Probably my favourite by Tad, but God's Balls is brilliant too.

There's a good documentary on the band from 2008:

Did Tad play Sunstroke 95? Or am I imagining it...

They're listed on the tickets, but not the poster. Did they replace Sponge on the day? Some lineup anyway.

Sponge played. 16 Candles Down the Drain was them, yeah? I thought there was something about Tad being on the ticket but not playing. I have my old tickets here somewhere actually, so I should root them out for a look.

That was a fun day. I remember myself and my mates walking in to the RDS and bumping in to a couple of older Celbridgians we knew. One of them was completely out of his tits on drink and drugs and the other dude trying to persuade us to help him get the gimpy one to the hospital.  At 13 I didn't drink and myself and my mates were like, eh... nah! Good luck with that. Had a blast at the gig while the other lads spent the day in A&E

Wait, Mudhoney didn't play either. Did they? I think I'd remember that.

Great thanks for the doc recommendation!

The other one I listened to was Inhaler, which I also enjoyed but not as much as 8 Way Santa. I'll give God's Balls a go.

And holy shit, that Sunstroke lineup is wild!
