I think it was the singer from one of the supports and some dude from a Polish band who went on the tour with them, can't remember his name. The polish lad played bass too but only knew about half the set. The lad from the support band didn't play bass so they started the set with no bass.

It was an alright gig, actually 🤣

I know the have a flaky reputation live;but the gig they did in the Village with Jack owen and Dave Suzuki was unreal!

Talking about crew filling in for singers, remember that Death gig without Chuck?

Yeah, again, it was a decent set... just not SH era Death. It wasn't shambolic performance by any means, it just wasn't the band everyone wanted to see. I think I still have Walt Thrashler's plec around somewhere.

I'd rank Obituary in McGonagles touring Cause Of Death as a bigger disappointment. There was gear set up on the stage, just no fucking band showed up. Can you have a trainwreck when there was no performance?

Didn't something similar happen when Paradise Lost were touring Gothic? PL played alright, but I think Benediction were due to support and were a no-show. The party line was that they'd missed the ferry but I think there was a more mundane explanation, a fight within the band or something. McGonagle's again.

What was the capacity of McGonagles, saw Morbid Angel there on Blessed tour. Ace was packed, was it similar to Dolans?

That'll be 20 years ago in December, not today or yesterday haha

I saw that Glen-less gig, I can't remember when it was though. They were supported by a band one time Wykked Witch and genuinely I was wondering what I was doing spending my money going to see live music for at all. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a gig.

I saw them in Dec 04 in the Village, the above gig I think was in maybe Sept/Oct 2005, Jan 2007 both in TBMC and then that other show. Was it a gig from Visceral Bleeding or Prostitute Disfigurement who stood in for him?

Maybe that January 2007 gig was the one he wasn't at.

That was The End Complete tour, they made it over okay for Cause of Death.

Shambolic acts, so vivid!

I've seen Mastodon have a few stinkers. I think the worst was Hellfest 2007, there had been a fire on the main stage early in the day and all bands up until 5pm maybe got cancelled. I think they were the first band in there as a result. Sound was dogshit, the seemed really fedup and just like they'd rather be anywhere else. Brent fucked his guitar off at one stage, pissed off back stage.

Two or three hundred at most I'd say, it was tiny. Only saw that PL gig and Mordred around the same time, wasn't a place I was fond of. Condensation running down the walls and dripping from the ceiling is my clearest memory of it.

It was Cause of Death, 100%, I was dying to see Murphy play with them and had given up on them when The End Complete came out, thought it was shite.

Was two shows alright one in 05 then another in 07. Maybe the gig without Glen was 07 One thing I do remember is Killswitch Engage played in the ambassador the same night as the gig with no Glen because Jack Owen made a comment about them playing just over the road and he was taking the piss out of them on stage. Wykked Witch played at the show that Glen showed up to because I remember we were standing outside after it and the vocalist from Wykked Witch came up and just started talking to myself and my mate we had idea who or what she was.

I have the ticket stubs from all three Deicide shows so can check to confirm the dates.

It is mad to think that the last time Deicide played in Ireland is 17 years ago this month.
