Quote from: Trev on January 19, 2024, 03:01:13 PMI was at that Down gig but can't remember a thing about it for good or bad, was on the beer for days at that point and was probably as mashed as Anselmo by that point

I must have been the only person not sloshed out of their brains at this show

Massacre in The Voodoo  around 07/08,it was a bit of a mini fest thing with Extreme noise terror and local bands.Kam Lee was truly an embarrassment!.

Another one that makes my blood boil was Pungent stench in Whelans in 2005?.I was a fan boy since my teens in the 90s,so was excited to finally see themThey played a set full of covers!,played fuck all old material.Thankfully Martin Schirencs band played all the classic material in Cork years later!,made up for it!

I went to see Down in the Astoria in London in 06 as there hadn't been an Irish date announced at that point . They were absolutely amazing that night.
The next time they played The Ambassador be it 07/08 was fairly sloppy. Lots of him meandering around with that pout .
Paradise Lost in Nancys for the new sound tour. Host maybe.
It's not that it was a train wreck it was more a case of a lot of people wondering what the fuck is this.

Abandon Incarnate in Fredz used to be a twin wreck but it the best possible way. Absolutely bananas music played by people who looked demented on stage. Now maybe I was demented and they were all fine. Who knows.

Abaddon Incarnate played Fredz with Rato Raro and was indeed demented. Both bands were utterly relentless. The tore into it like a high speed runaway train maybe, but I certainly wouldn't call it a train performance.

The gig I'm referring too was around the time of The Last Supper. By no means was it a train wreck in the sense of the original post. I suppose it was more unhinged bedlam.

Unhinged Bedlam is a perfect way to describe Abaddon live back then. However I did see them once where the wheels came off the cart and that was supporting Morbid Angel in the music center. No bassist that night for whatever reason and the remaining three members seemed to be playing different tracks or tempos to each other, they only got around 15 minutes too. I remember the singer saying "this is the behaviour of the Jews" when the proverbial hook was pulled on the performance

Did a tone have the misfortune to witness House of Pain in Limerick way back in the day? Can't remember the venue, it looked like half the band weren't there. Played a few songs and walked off ittey bizarre

Steve from AI was always, and presumably still is, a ferocious frontman, one of the best to ever do it from Ireland.

Was the Down gig the one where Keenan and Anselmo had the fight of cocaine, Keenan fucked off for s short bit with Anselmo ribbing him. "He'll be back, he ain't going nowhere, needs the cash n the coke...."

There was a reference to Keenan and his white line fever......

Megadeth restarting "In My Darkest Hour" the Drover brothers..... full blown train wreck!

Was at Down in 06 in The Ambassador and thought it was great. Was well sauced though.

1349 in Dublin where yer man set his head on fire was fairly mock

Now I'm assuming we're keeping it to things we've seen ourselves but if we aren't, check out Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts for one of the bleakest things ever caught on camera

Abbath (in south America somewhere was it?) a few years back was an absolute mess!,grim footage!.

Yeah that is a trainwreck for different reasons, very sad. Seen STP on other occasions and he was on point. I'm amazed that show with the wildabouts went ahead, surely someone from the band or a tour manager could've stopped it

Weren't there amazingly shite performances by both Ginger Wildheart and Sebastien Bach years back in Belfast? I wasn't there but remember the old forum having lots to say on them.
