He's been taking a shit on Iommi too, I've seen his Sabbath cover band, one of the worst gigs I've ever been to

I've seen a video of them playing Walk from one of their new shows. Looked good and Zakk wasn't doing anything weird. They weren't very lively on stage though, but maybe it was near the end of the set. Or maybe they're old. Either way, I'd go see them.

Walk is the last tune. There wasn't a lot of his cunty pinches in the vids I saw but it was shite.

Watching one of the shows now and it sounds fucking good to me  8)

Phil sounds unreal. I never thought he'd be able to pull it off so well. Planet Caravan sounds savage. He can't sing in high register any more but he's powerful and note perfect.

Zakk Wylde is no match for Dime it has to be admitted. I bet they are all friends, but there's probably a technically better player out there who could do those leads more justice. That said, it would be a fun night out.

  It's funny because it's true

What I have seen so far sounds great to me as well. Phils vocal transformation is crazy. The only thing missing is Phil jumping around the stage but of course that isn't possible anymore. I just hope they change the setlist around a bit and don't play the same songs at every single show. Tickets for Berlin arrived in the post yesterday can't wait a band I never thought I would get to see. I would love to hear the underground in America, GTS, Suicide note Pt.2, Hard lines etc.

They were never going to find someone even close to Dime but Zakk Wylde has always been the name who would replace him even when rumours of a reunion were going around when Vinne was still alive. Zakk Wylde doesn't look to be in good health he looks like a recovering addict in some of the photos I have seen.

In fairness his vocals hold up,very surprised.

From the set I saw, nothing off TGSK - strange move I thought. Any inclination why that might be?

Benante said they'll cover every record, by the time they hit Europe that the set will be jigged around a bit and they'll have another set of songs rehearsed.

Could of sworn I saw Drag the waters listed this day last week just after the first show happened and the set was online but can't find that anywhere now. Phil was doing suicide note part 2 with the illegals so I would hope they do start adding trendkill tracks.

I'd be there in a flash. To echo other posts his voice sounds strong. Just heating him in Uber macho PANTERA mode would be brilliant fun.

He's not up to the task at all. There are probably thousands of guitarists out there who could do a more convincing tribute to Dime. Fuck it though, a gig would still be fun.

I agree that a gig would be fun alright and I'd definitely still go, never got to see them before.

Generally speaking the use of backing tracks is sacrilege to me, especially for rock and metal. Bands like Behemoth are complete pantomime with half their material piped in through the PA. It's kinda sad when it's done for a band like Pantera who were so raw live, that being the beauty of it.
