Zakk has responded to this claim in his own words:
QuoteFor every fucking second the pathetic media pisses on me and judges what I am in one paragraph, look here, fuck you all!

Was just gonna say the same thing. It's a non-story.

It's not 'harmonic squeals' in the song as cited as being the backing track/part in question. (The sound is produced with a whammy pedal, most probably controlled by the guitar tech).

Definitely would head along to a gig meself if announced.

Lol for fucks sake these same blogs were writing avout how Scott Ian was controlling the digitech whammy backstage for a gig earlier this year - exactly what he did for Dimebag years ago too - for these exact parts in the song.

A "news" article which contains any variation of 'A fan also commented on a YouTube video...' is not news, just conjecture of the uninformed.

Is this a common thing though, pedals being operated from backstage? I'd have thought the guitarist would want full control when they're playing. An odd set up.

Depends on the guitarist I suppose. Dime had his guitar tech manage his effects (except for a wah pedal maybe?) from backstage, so he had the freedom to run around the front like a lunatic. The same guitar tech that's now touring with Zakk, no less! Using some of the Dime's pedals from years ago which is cool.

Personally, the only 'dodgy' thing I find about Zakk's playing in that video is that he didn't play the actual pinched harmonics during the chorus

Yeah, shite journalism but I suppose they got their clicks in the end.

Here's a 1 hour video of Dimebag at a guitar clinic in Texas. He answers questions and plays a bunch of stuff. It's a great watch, and if I remember correctly he discusses how his effects are operated from backstage. He was some fucking player hi.

UK shows will happen in 2024 no word on anything for Ireland yet though. Going to see them myself in a month and I can't wait. I saw they played Suicide Note Pt. 2 recently. Really hope they play that next month.

What do we reckon the odds are on a Dublin date?
