I don't think he's much of a loss. It's gas reading "Rust In Peace" he feels like Dawn Patrol is a masterpiece, Mustaine shits on it. I liked Dystopia, but megadeth have been done as a live force for over a decade, we're always hit and miss it seemed before that bar being on fire in 80s and 90s.

I was listening to some Van Halen earlier and was reminded of how Mustaine tells the story of first meeting Ellefson. They were renting flats in the same building and one morning, hungover, Mustaine gets woken up by the BOM-BOM-BOM bassline from Runnin' With The Devil, so he went down to tell the culprit to shut up. And then it struck me; the clues were there right from the very start... one-handed bass playing!

So what's the story here, if yer wan wasn't underage then why was he fired?

If it was all legal and consentual, then it's not really anybody else's business is it?

I haven't seen the video, but I'm assuming his face is in it? If so, what a fucking moron to share that with somebody he's never met.

Apparently he's looking to sue yer wan who leaked the video, revenge porn and all that. He'd want to hope he has a better lawyer than the one he had for Mustaine 

Ellefson was always a fucking weirdo, no big loss

I think it's a big enough loss. He was a founding member of a band who have a history of not being able to hold onto their members. Plus Megadeth are well into the game at this stage, Dave's voice hasn't been great for years (or ever, haha) and if some people are on the fence about attending one of their shows, an absent Ellefson might just give them another excuse not to.

In fairness didn't he try to sue Mustaine over something, and then Mustaine let him into the band again?. Don't you think that's probably difficult enough to deal with as it is. He already had his 'second chance'.  Now he is caught wanking on camera online, is that a good move for anybody? Could anyone just 'move on' from that? especially in a household name metal band trying to make bank because... IT'S NOT A GOOD LOOK.
Would I rather Ellefson was still in the band? of course but he messed up, sorry.

True, maybe they could have worked it out, but as far as the band is active I think it's already enough of a sideshow to potentially ruin them, I mean, look at Cristiano Ronaldo taking Coca Cola bottles off the press table on TV recently, that little move hurt Coca Cola a lot

I don't think those rumours really mattered. At the end of the day there's still a video of his bass player that he clearly wanted rid of playing solo out there,  and was gifted the perfect opportunity to do it
