Tempted but it'll cost €40 to try it out (€15 for 6 cans, €25 for the yokeybob). I'm told it's great but is it worth that much?

It's pricey enough but if you're fond of the plain, it'd save you a packet over the long term. The brother said the little yoke has a fairly long lifespan. Plus the caníns do contain the correct amount of scoop to make a proper pint.

Have heard good reports from mates back home alright.

It's grand and does taste a bit smoother but I'd still prefer to pick up a few slabs of the widget cans when they're on offer. They pour an excellent pint IMO, Guinness Foreign Extra is still the top dog though  :abbath:

My brother called over to my house the weekend before last with the pouring spout and 6 of the cans. It's a bit of a novelty and it tasted decent but  I can't see myself buying one unless the cost of the cans themselves come down in price.

I've mentioned this before but, for me, canned Beamish is the daddy. €7 for 4 Beamish or €15 for 6 Guinness.

As BOF mentioned too - a slab of Guiness will only cost about 40 quid as well.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Guinness offers this week for Halloween. Dunnes Stores already have the 539ml x 24 cans in at €26....
I always stock up on these offers when they're in...

The new Guinness cans are great completely different than the draft widget ones. Normal draft cans taste like piss I stopped drinking them years ago and Guinness is my drink of choice. I prefer the Surger cans from up the North to the new ones down here. The consistency in the new cans sold in Ireland sometimes is not great. A can won't surge properly if it is too cold, a lot of times the glass will overflow and sometimes the device will leak down the side of the can when you are pouring it into a glass which can be annoying. The hangovers are bad. I don't generally get hangovers but after a few of the nitrosurge I definitely feel it the next morning.

I have been on the surgers since March of this year and I find them the best. Also no chance that the price of these will come down if anything it is going to go up.

I find draft cans consistently good and I drink it straight out of the can. Not arsed with the gimmick of the surge thing.

Varying reports about the surge thing so far, I can't see it being worth it. The draught cans are grand, and Tesco have slabs for €26 at the moment, so it's a no-brainer really.

The draught cans are more than grand; they're better than the vast majority of tinned beers you can get if you ask me.

I agree with this.

I had a nosy at the yoke to see what it looked like

To be fair, it does look like a nice pour. Do I need one? No. But I wouldn't be upset if somebody bought me one for xmas 😂

Realising I have an extra day off tomorrow ::)

Flying past people sitting in traffic because they don't realise most bus lanes are only certain hours

Ha, I don't even drive and I love that

When you want to take the 1st exit off a roundabout, and there is a long que of traffic in the left hand lane approaching the roundabout, but the right hand lane que is non existent - so you use it, drive all the way around the roundabout and beat the que  :abbath:
