Gehenna - Seen through the veils of Darkness

Ordered years ago directly from Cacphonous. Amazing album. First album also well worth listening to even if it's just five songs. The Third Spell/Malice never quite lived up to the hype of its predecessors and to these ears would rank quite some way behind the ridiculously high standards set on albums one and two.

Cracking album.

Just listened to Malevolent Creation - Stillborn.

I still know fuck all about death metal, realistically. I go hot and cold on some of it. Usually the more dour, testosteroney stuff. But I loved this. Groovy, swinging good time.

Try the Ten Commandments, Retribution or Eternal. Especially their debut. Almost thirty years old now. Suffice to say it's stood the test of time.

I was lucky to have a good friend with a great cd collection back in the day and gave me a lend of it.  Its so good.

They seem to get overlooked a bit but the first two are indeed savage albums.

The first Gorrch album was cool. I'll have to give that a listen.

I love the predominant church organ in First Spell. I'll have to try to grab a copy if it's possible. I saw a copy of Second Spell in Tower last year and didn't get it. Next time I was in there I looked for it but it was gone.

Varaha  - A Passage for Lost Years

Agreed on the above: Gehenna are definitely overlooked for how good they are. There were a couple of good discussions about them back in the MI days.

Bolt Thrower - For Victory...

Thou Shalt Suffer - Into The Woods of Belial

Barathrum - Infernal

Nergal - The Wizard Of Nerath

Yob - The Great Cessation
Long time since I've had this on. Forgot how great it is.

Best thing they've released IMO. They reissued it a few years ago with a bonus track or two, I believe.

Devin Townsend - Devlab.

Its pretty shit

Yeah remember buying Seen through the veils of Darkness back in the day alright, another one of those purchases off the back of Terrorizer.I picked up Murder years later out of pure curiosity, not a bad album, mor a DM sound.
