Bit meh but I will give it another few goes.  A lot of the newer black metal stuff I'm hearing lately isnt appealing to my ears.  Modern BM seems heavily focused on the theatrical appearance more than the music.

I need cold production and short punchy riffs like the old school stuff.

I haven't listened to this in years. I seldom reach for it, rather opting for Drawing Down the Moon when the Beherit mood strikes. Its crude filth is hitting the spot. Deathcrush up next.

Funny you mention these two one after another, I was reading the Primordial thread, and upon sticking on the title track from AJE, it reminded me of Drudkh and how the two bands share similar musical qualities in their earlier material. Must give Blood In Our Wells a go soon.

Coincidentally, and probably because I had A Journey's End on the other day, I only detected that similarity while listening to Drudkh yesterday
