Hang on, a lad is after sending me the best thing ever.

Sweet jesus this is fantastic by any standing and ultimately serves to accentuate the quality of the source material. Fuck this is so good. SO GOOD.

Fuck when I think about it, Nirvana were so fucking brilliant

Edit 2: Don't deny yourselves this one, it is truly brilliant
I love the filth of the music but the vocals have me looking for the stop button. I agree with you on Nirvana, though.

I'm starting the day with Sword - Metalized.

Follow the wheel dude.

Really love the music and the tone on that but the vocals ruin it for me. I do like that vocal type but here it just didn't fit

Skepticism- 'Alloy'.

Big Thou fan, didn't think I'd enjoy this at all but it's quite good.

I was delighted with it I listened to the whole thing twice in a row last night. Of course the originals can't be improved on, but there is a lot to be said for this one. I can also see how the vocals might be a bit jarring but I didn't mind them at all. The version of Endless Nameless is something to behold.

Down - NOLA

It's a bit better than I remember, in fairness. By no means a 10/10 though. 4 or 5 great tunes.

WODENSTHRONE "Loss"

An absolute masterclass in atmospheric black metal.  Heavy as hell in parts while retaining the epic feel throughout.
Haven't listened to it in ages but the nods to Sabbat / Wayward Sons Skyclad and possibly early Primordial really stuck out this time around. A modern classic.

My perception of its' brilliance could be as much a time and place thing as anything else. It's difficult for me to be fully objective with certain albums which soundtracked my teen years

I'd be like that with many albums too. Even though it'd nearly be embarrassing to admit that publicly haha.

I was probably harsher than it probably deserved, as the good tracks really are great. But there's a good 3/4 songs on there that are grand on in the background but wouldn't drag you out of a stupour.

Agree there's a few great tracks on NOLA, but also think it's a whole lot of filler.

Dug out Axis - Bold as Love for the first time in years today. Despite being 53 years old, it still sounds fresh as fuck.

On a bit of power metal buzz the last few days

Stratovarius _ Dreamspace
Rhapsody - Dawn of Victory
Sabaton - Coat of Arms
Hammerfall - Renegade

Entombed - Left Hand Path

Pig Destroyer- head cage

There is something wrong with ye. Nola is 10/10. Even Mclovin agrees with me.
Today was all about Obituary. That guitar tone is everything .
