Slomatics - Estron
Christian Death - Catastrophe Ballet
Gospel - The Loser

Pagan Altar - Magical and Mystical
Negative Plane - Et In Saecula Saeculorum
Negative Plane - Stained Glass Revelations
Negative Plane - The Pact
Mortem - Demon Tales
Burning Witch - Crippled Lucifer
Grief - Dismal

Shades Of God I can't listen to at all, dunno why. The production's weird, but all of their early ones sound weird anyway. Can't get into it at all.

Shades of God is probably my favourite because it was the first one I got into. I remember just turning the tape over and over. The drumming is awful but that's sort of its charm and the overall production is a bit odd but nah I love it. All the stuff from Gothic to One Second is good. Not much to be said for anything after that but I do have an odd soft spot for Believe in Nothing (I know I know..).

Swans "Public Castration Is A Good Idea"
Skin Chamber "Wound"
Godspeed You! Black Emperor "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven"

Feel good summer vibe tunes
Chlanna Nan Con Thigibh A So's Gheibh Sibh Feoil

I went on a ST binge today, went through the all the early albums up to The Art of Rebellion, where the ST story ends.

I would suggest that it ended an album earlier, I though that was awful. I heard a recentish song (Living For Life or something similar) from them and it was decent enough. The album it came from was shite though.

Sanctuary - Into The Mirror Black
Sacral Rage - both albums and EP

An afternoon of high-pitched vocal histrionics  :abbath:

Man I used to love singing along to the entire ...Mirror Black album, ...Could barely register on Dane's vocal spectrum these days, one of my favourite albums of all time though having initially hated it for being just too different to the more popular thrash bands of the day. The album cover fascinates me til this day too, who IS that old guy, where's he going/coming from???
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Yeah, dunno. But he's a dead ringer for an old Johnny Cash, so I just pretend it's him.

Def Leppard - Pyromania
Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding
Dio - The Last In Line

Paradise Lost- Lost Paradise.

I was sitting here looking at the album cover and the thought occurred to me (and this is quite likely to be well known to everyone but me) that the artwork has a strong stylistic similarity to Soulside Journey. So I grabbed SsJ off the shelf and sure enough it's the work of the same artist, Duncan Fegredo. (I'm slow, but I generally do get there eventually!) Two absolutely iconic metal album covers. Is he responsible for working on any other classic metal releases?

Next up is Darkthrone obviously...

Cobalt - Gin
Altar of Plagues - Teethed Glory and Injury

I've always thought the Lost Paradise album cover was so out of place that it was perfect, not suited to a death/doom album at all. They've always had that oddness to them...

Fuck it, LP is going on now...

One of the best albums I've ever heard.
