This is right up my alley even if it does sound suspiciously like Korn

I mean I wrote about this very phenomenon here
https://www.thesleepingshaman.com/reviews/chat-pile-gods-country/

but...it's great. Sickened that yet again, An Post have lost my copy.
Mind you I like the first two Korn records. And they sound more like Big Black with Munky playing guitar than anything
Yup your whole review hits the nail on the head there.  I had also thought it was a bit like All Your Sisters making a metal album in parts.  The nu-buzz off the riffs would give you a laugh at how ridiculous it is first time around, as would most of the music, but I'd say I'm on my 6th spin of it since I posted about it here and it is utterly class, has opened out into a different beast altogether.  Savage album.

Listening to a load of Testament, trying to decide whether I should drag my ass to see them here tomorrow night. Lombardo on drums is an extra draw, but I dunno. Anyone caught them recently??

Necrophagist - Epitaph

Still great, still holds up well, but I reckon if that third album ever comes out it would need to be pretty special to stand out from all the bands that copied their template and pushed it further

I threw it on the other evening but I was doing some other things at the time so only half heard it but I put on Slaughterhouse there now again after reading the review and it's great. Then I looked on Amazon at the CD and they're after 30 Sterling for it. Fuck it I'll throw it on again on Bandcamp

I thought I replied to this but now I can't see it - Astfgyl check the Deathwish EU store for that CD it's only 12 quid there

Sound job, found it there. 19 euro with the shipping but better than what was on offer on amazon.

Forgotten Woods- The Curse of Mankind.

I have been listening to this on YouTube a fair bit recently since the dude died. It's one I've dipped into here and there over the years but is only starting to open up to me for some reason. Really digging it. I'm going to order it and the other two albums next payday. It sounds like it sits nicely alongside early Burzum and Strid.

Thanks for the reminder, I read a review somewhere online recently and meant to add it to the ever increasing list of stuff to check out.

And yeah, funny you should mention Korn cos I was doing a clearout of old CDs recently and I came across the first two. I fucking detest Korn these days but those were great. I'd forgotten how raw and dark Life is Peachy was. Of course, it all started going to pot with the third album.

Yeah the first two but more the first. As long as Shoots and Ladders and Daddy are taken out of the tracklist it's a pretty decent album. Those two tracks are pretty poor though.

Listened to God's Country last night and about to lash it on again it's pretty interesting

Lp arrived today. Just for people reading this put off by the mention of the K word..its far closer to Big Black or very early Today is The Day in the Am Rwp days. Its not an actual nu metal album

I think it's just the guitar tone. I'm getting a bang of Big Black and Godflesh from a lot of it. It's certainly got something going for it.

Timeless album, still as fresh today as it was 18 (yikes) years ago.
