I really like Chaos Echoes. Very unique band.

Been listening to an uncharacteristic amount of what I guess is Brutal Death Metal/Goregrind this week, which is generally an area I don't care for. These three being the exception

Made me want to see if I can dig out the old Splattereah/Undinism/Murder Basket/C.U.M demos next time I'm in Waterford

On a non-metal note, I've been asked to make a Spotify paylist for work (don't ask), and have been revisiting lots of old Northern Soul to put that together. Because they're all expecting an hour of Autopsy and Throbbing Gristle.

Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood

Every once in a while you need to put on a decent pair of headphones and just sit back and listen to this, amazing record.

Last few days have been brought to me by the letter S:

Soundgarden - badmotorfinger
Sentenced - Amok, North From Here, Down
Satyricon - Shadowthrone, Volcano, Satyricon

UK's self-titled debut.

One of my favourite records from the 1970s, hugely underrated, especially when you consider the calibre of the players on it (Eddie Jobson, Allan Holdsworth, Bill Bruford and John Wetton).

Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales

As briliiant and demented as ever.

If you need to drive from one side of town to the other in a hurry in heavy traffic, nothing beats 'into the crypts of rays' at full belt. It definitely encourages some ill advised overtaking and/or a relaxed attitude to traffic lights.

Beneath the Remains, to me the quintessential thrash/death album of the 80s. I have the original Lp of this and though the production is dry as a bone it still sounds amazing.

Sepultura at their peak.

Been on a Decapitated buzz. hadn't listened to some of those CD's in years.
Couldn't believe 'Winds of creation' is 20 years old. Remember being all over it after hearing the title track on one of those sample CD's . Unbelievable players, for a bunch of kids. Still have a lot of time for their first 4.

Pestilence - Resurrection Macabre.   Probably my favourite of theirs after 'Testimony'  :abbath:

You're living all over me. Dinosaur Jr

KXM - Circle of Dolls

Three quality albums from Pinnick, Lynch and Luzier now. I'd love to see what they could do if they spent more than a few days every couple of years writing and recording them.

Curious, you can't surely have heard '...Impulse' or 'Malleus...'?

Dold Vorde Ens Navn- GjengangereI Hjertets Mørke
I can't get enough of this EP.  I'm  listening to it on repeat.

Kvelgeyst - Alkahest, kind of oddball black metal from Switzerland that came out a few months ago

'Resurrection' just clicked with me from the get go. Love everything about it. The repetition of song title argument is of so little significance to my ears I barely notice it tbh,  the quality of the songs and playing far outweigh such a minor gripe. I realise I'm in a minority on that one, but there you go.

Fair enough, I'm sure that's quite a niche minority position ya got yourself there alright!
