It's definitely Biohazard anyway. I like it

It's great, the rap bits are pure cringe but don't ruin the overall thing.

Biohazard without cringe rap bits would be incomplete  8)

Yeah it's up there with Voivod and Frost in terms of 80s band reemerging with an updated and evolved sound that's definitely got more modern elements, yet not sacrificing what made them so great in the first place. Not as high on the neoclassical riffery as the olden days but when it shows up , it's killer. "Crisium Bound" is a great example.

Conflict - The Ungovernable Force

I should probably be putting this in the non-metal thread but it's intense enough to include here I think.

ah I think there's plenty of non metal stuff in this thread, tis grand

My Dying Bride - Like Gods Of The Sun

Not their best but some great tunes on it

Kvelertak - Meir

Haven't listened to this one in a few years. Couple of highlights but not as good as the debut

Mgla - Exercises In Futility

My personal favourite of theirs

Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere

Flew back to Ireland to see the show and I've had the album on again since then. Didn't want to play it to death but like some others have said here, it's probably my favourite album in the last decade

Coroner and Evoken all weekend
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Nevermore - Dead Heart in a Dead World

Released 25 years ago today

Ooh, nice, always up for an excuse to throw it on! And it'll make for a nice progression from Steelheart, which I've been rocking out to this morning

Delco MF- 100% complete and total motherfuckers

Couldn't give a shit about hardcore/punk mostly these days but this is perfect. Unhinged feral shit that I'd eager was recorded on a four track

Been on a bit of a My Dying Bride buzz with the first four albums. The news of Aaron's sacking had me going back over them. Some epic material on those early releases.

Also been listening to Suicidal Tendencies - Lights... Camera... Revolution! in the car all week. Mike Clarke at his peak.

Looking forward to the new Coroner coming this week.

Blood Incantation - Starspawn 9.5/10
For all the praise spunked over the latest one, the debut is right up there with it in terms of songwriting, maybe more so if you found some of those interludes a bit shoehorned in. For all the quirky time changes and atmospherics here this thing is built on an array of magnificently twisted riffs that marked them out as a band to watch early on.

Gorguts - Colored Sands 9/10
2013 and whilst Blood Incantation were recording their first demos, Gorguts came out of a self-imposed 12 year hiatus with this vast, evolving record that reminded everyone who the kings of avant-garde Death Metal really are.

Hooded Menace - Lachrymose Monuments Of Obscuration 8/10
The Finnish Gloomsters sure are sounding clean and polished these days and I can't help but think a shuffle mix of this interspersed with the new Paradise Lost would make for an interesting listen. This is very good though maybe not quite enough to topple The Tritonous Bell and kudos for yet another cool cover. The album cover that is. Not the Duran Duran one.

Paradise Lost - Ascension 7.5/10
Full disclosure, I would name PL as a top five favourite band ever so the fact that they are 'giving the fans what they want' is music to my ears. There are many different types of 'Lost songs here and while there's no doubt the album is front loaded, I find myself already embracing them all like old friends.

Firmament - For Centuries Alive 7.5/10
Recent release on Dying Victims, second album from these very much traditionalist Germans who clearly have plenty of Lizzy, UFO and early Maiden in their collective collections. Very enjoyable stuff this, just lacking that little bit of bite or spite I like in my Metal.

Isole - Dystopia 7/10
More melancholic Doom from the super -consistent Swedes, not always the most memorable band in terms of earth shattering riffs but they don't shy away from mixing things up a bit with song structures, tempos and occasional harsh vocals. Solid. As always.

Had it on twice. Very enjoyable altogether
