Watain- Casus Luciferi. Long long time since I've put this on. Decent.

Probably my favourite album this decade. Perfect from start to finish.

Oddly, I met the drummer from this band in a pub last night. Never heard of them. Nice guy over on a family holiday.

Checked it out having read a review published by AMG. Pretty cool!

Menhir - Hildebrandslied
               Ziuwari

At The Gates - "To Drink from the Night Itself".

Probably the best of their reunion albums.

Merda Mundi - V: Agnus Satani

Dark Tranquility - The Mind's I (as I was thinking about it on Saturday and it has been an age, would have been rude not to play it).

Lunar Shadow - Far From Light

Evilfeast - Wintermoon Enchantment

A great chill out there this morning

Nice one, that news has made my day.

Re. Aenigmatum - Deconsecrate, good gear. I think I may have bypassed this one.

Overkill - Feel The Fire 9/10
Fresh outta Jersey in 1985, the first Overkill came out all fists flying as Blitz and the boys set about putting working man's Thrash well and truly on the global map.

Void - Forbidden Morals 8.5/10
Recently flagged up by Pentagrimes and currently ripping up the ranks of my Top Twenty for the year, Louisiana's Void, second album, progressive tech thrash with haunting atmospheres so you can hear the likes of Forbidden, Annihilator, Anacrusis and some Mercyful Fate /KD style theatrics, there's a lot to like here, a hell of a lot.

Burning Witches - The Inquisition 8/10
Some recent line-up changes for these Swiss ladies but this new album sees them in fine fettle as they romp through an irresistible, adrenaline fuelled set of Trad and Power Metal tracks that may just be a career best. Even the obligatory ballad gets a pass here.

Ambush - Evil In All Dimensions 8/10
New one from the Swedish leather and chains quintet, a band that both lauds and emulates the past when the likes of Maiden, Accept and Priest were gods to the godless. The band have their first ever ballad on this one but it doesn't derail a catchy, memorable fist-puncher of an album from a band who clearly know what they're doing.

The Gathering - Downfall:The Early Years 7.5/10
A good time of year to raid the vaults of The Gathering 's discography with this collection of early demos and a 7" single showcasing the band's early synth enhanced Death Doom. Soon a certain flame haired chanteusse would bring them to a whole new level of popularity and accessibility..

Amen Corner - Written By The Devil 7/10
Picked this up on vinyl solely on the strength of the artwork which has often caught my eye, seventh album from these Brazilian lifers, a very decent occult Black Metal offering that would certainly lead me to pick up more from the band.
