Warning- Watching From A Distance.
Warning- Demos. Serious Saint Vitus and Pentagram influence in the early days. Vitagram?

Ildjarn - Forest Poetry

Pist.On - Number One. While Grey Flap is the obvious highlight, the rest of the album isn't bad. A lot of goodwill bought with the Type O guitar tone.

Cosmic Putrefaction - Crepuscular Dirge For The Blessed One 9/10
I only jumped on this space monster with their latest one last year but this one prior to that is even better, a virtual masterclass of multilayered, synth tinged Progressive Death that is really spurring me on to add more of this one man band to the shelves. Excellent stuff indeed.

Obsidian Tongue - Eclipsing Worlds Of Scorn 8.5/10
Another beauty from Profound Lore is the brand new one from Canada's Obsidian Tongue, a meticulously crafted and immersive work that blends harsh, atmospheric Black Metal with more ambient, reflective passages and demands repeated listens. A favourite of the year for me for sure.

Ranger - Where Evil Dwells 8/10
Stalking the lines between Classic Heavy Metal, Speed Metal and street level Thrash the debut from Finland's Ranger is still an album that gets me going and leaves me wondering how the fuck I've never picked up anything else by them.

Nuclear Tomb -Terror Labyrinth 7.5/10
The eye-catchingly DIY cover on this one bugged away at me whenever I laid eyes on it until I finally blind bought. The DIY ethos can be heard in the music too, a punkish form of death thrash with tracks that get snappily in and out and get the job done, zero bloat. Kudos also for actually admitting they used a random generator to come up with their name. That didn't work out half bad, considering the alternatives.

Ashen Tomb - Ecstatic Death Reign 7/10
A cover art that screams (yet) more Swedeath and HM2 worship but in truth this is a more brutal strain of Death more in line with old Finnish Death Squads like Purtenance with a bit of classic Suffocation thrown in for good measure. Intense and satisfyingly ugly, a hellishly good debut this one.

Do you have the 2CD edition of WFAD as well? I got that when it came out and now it's going for silly money on Discogs.

Deep Purple - Live in Wallongong

Fear Factory Demanufacture
Fear Factory Soul Of A New Machine

Haven't listened to either in yonks and they're both very good altogether
