Dio- Angry Machines (1996)

Solid. rockin' album from Dio in the mid nineties. Missed out on it at the time. FFO Heaven and Hell era Sabbath/ Dehumanizer era sabbath fans.

I bought Dehumanizer on cassett in a second hand shop around 1993.I was discovering Death metal at the time and bought it purely because of the album cover.
I was raging when I played it!,not what I was expecting!.So I dismissed it for years and years, absolutely love it now!.

I did the same with a Dokken album!

Similar thing happened to me when I was younger and pretty much exclusively listening to extreme stuff, I bought both Holy Terror records and was disappointed when I got home and played them and they were "just thrash". How wrong was I! came back to them years later, delighted with my past self as they're now 2 of my favourite records ever.

Funny you should mention Holy Terror, the same day I bought dehimanizer I picked up Holy terror -Mind wars, and Death Strike -Fuckin Death, two nice finds for a young  fella!

Holy Terror are fucking great.  Must stick them on today.

Hardraw - Abyss of Mankind

Brilliant album. I think it's the best of their later albums, and that's saying something as the self-titled from 2003 is an absolute stormer. Hosannas just tops it though, the production isn't as slick which adds to the atmosphere, and the band sound possessed.

Had Absolute Dissent on yesterday myself, great album too.

This morning's listening...

Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood

I think I've only heard Hosannas once and it did nothing for me. That s/t and Absolute Dissent are serious albums though.

Mastodon - Once More 'Round The Sun
Deicide - The Stench Of Redemption
Morphosis - Rise Of The Bastard Deities
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Corrosion Of Conformity - Animosity

In Flames - The Jester Race.
Terror - Keepers Of The Faith.
Jerry Cantrell - Degradation Trip.
Helmet - Betty.

Niden Div. 187 - Impergium
Sadistik Exekution - The Magus
Wrathprayer - Enkoimeterion

Slayer - Decade Of Aggression 9.5/10
Had this big boy on last night and it got me thinking if I'd take it over Live After Death. If push came to shove? Yeah.I would.

Forbidden - Twisted Into Form 9/10
With huge trash albums coming out left, right and centre in 1990 you had to have something good to compete for a kid's pocket money and Forbidden had it in spades on this one.

Attic- Return Of the Witchfinder 8/10
New one from the Occult/Trad Metallers with the King clone on vocals, it's their best yet, has got a lot of listens here and will 100% be amongst my favourite twenty albums of the year. Unexpectedly.

Horrendous - Anareta 8/10
Third album from the American prog-death troupe and they really hit the Human/Symbolic sweet spot on this one.

Father Befouled - Immaculate Pain 7/10
Neat little 26min EP here, three new tracks, a cover of Pain Divine and and Abhorrence cover. Was big into the previous full length Crowned In Venicium and this will do nicely til the next album.

Wombbath - Choirs Of The Fallen 6/10
Second tier Swedeath, solid ,unspectacular but satisfyingly grimy. Cool art too.
