Well that's reason enough to fire up Spotify

Enjoy!

Hup, this is pretty good stuff! Nice one!  :abbath:

Glued to this! Howe was a legend. RIP.

All bona fide classics right there.

N.P. - THE BLOOD - False Gestures For A Devious Public (1983)

Wormhole - Almost Human

Interesting mix of tech-death and slam.

Venom - Welcome To Hell 9.5/10
Debut from 1981, track for track this trumps it's notorious successor of the following year.

Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales 9.5/10
Slight preference for this over Emperor's Return but what a cracking pair of EPs to kick off with.

Malokarpatan - Vertumnus Caesar 9/10
Latest one from these folky, progblack trailblazers, like Fenriz and King Diamond dragged Drudkh out on the lash ,superb stuff

Sarcofago -INRI 8/10
Savage Brazilian satanic thrash, gloriously neanderthal cult classic

Angel Dust - Into The Dark Past 8/10
High Roller cassette reissue with the Marching For Revenge demo tagged on making for an overdose of mustacioed and mulleted German speed thrash

Armoured Saint - Symbol Of Salvation 8/10
Standing steadfast in the midst of a diverging scene in 1991, the Saint doubled down on their hard rock and Heavy Metal ethos

Incantation - Unholy Deification 8/10
Sticking to their tried and trusted formula though a few welcome nods to their roots in Revenent here

Devourer - Diablos Brigade 7.5/10
Bestial deviltry from Singapore, this kicks ass

Therion - Secret Of the Runes 7/10
Concept based release here, much loved among Therion devotees though the operatics take a little too much centre stage for me this time

Coffins - Sinister Oath 7/10
Brand new one, it's not grabbing me like others and I think that's down to the vocals lacking a bit of clarity and definition, still, riffs aplenty.

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Controversial perhaps, but personally I'd flip the scores you've given to Welcome To Hell and INRI. Cracking list of albums there though  :abbath:

Currently listening:
Mastodon - Crack the Skye (instrumental version)

Yeah, no problems with that at all, I could listen to them both in a month's time and do the same myself. The Venom has the advantage of teenage memories though for me
