Iron Maiden: The Number Of The Beast

It turned 42 yesterday. Bow down and pay homage.

Trouble: Manic Frustration

Not really sure where to post this but just seen Full of Hell and Thou have announced a tour here. I'm not familiar with either of them and they both have a fairly big discography, where is the best place to start?

For Thou Heathen and Tyrant are good starting points, also their collaborations with the Body and Emma Ruth Rundle. Full of Hell Rudiments of Mutilation and their Merzbow Collab are my favourite

Great album, I'd nearly prefer Slow Forever though

This - I'd maybe avoid anything pre the Merzbow split as it's very much them figuring their sound out and is by far their weakest period. They've been on a roll since the split with ol' Masami though. Looking forward to the new one. The split with Gasp (who are also absolutely incredible, and enormously underrated) is well worth a listen, more their slower/heavier/weirder side coming through a bit more.

This morning's "generic but enjoyable death metal" playlist
Atavistic Decay & Feral Forms demos
Corpus Offal promo (I can't see this getting a second listen tbh - ex Cerebral Rot)
Degraved ep
Trollcave lp lined up next

Barren Earth - Curse of the Red River (definitely a band worth checking out if you like proggy metal)
Virvolac - Veneration (never heard of note of them before.  Another purchase due to the forum).
Witchery - In His Infernal Majesty's Service

Shit I haven't listened to Witchery in about 15 years. The first two albums were great

Witchery...... good band..... Kerry king does a guest appearance on one of their albums......
