Jill Lisson passed away yesterday at 54 years old. Some will remember her from Funerus and she is also John McEntees ex wife.

The two Funerus full lengths are great.

Neil Jenkins, Guitarist from Medulla Nocte. Great band, couldn't have been any age really those lads were probably in and around peer age of this board. Absolutely savage band.

Probably the higher end of the 40s? Saw them live a couple of times in the late 90s I think. Once in the little punk venue that was on Capel Street... forget the name. I think they supported Skinlab or someone like that in TBMC too? They were OK but I never bought a CD. Jammer, the drummer died years ago too.

RIP.

Sad news was only listening to em' recently. Great live band.

Slattery's?

Never really heard Medulla Nocte, possibly a track or 2 on a sampler CD back then.

Yep, Slattery's! I was at some great punk gigs in there in the second half of the 90s.

Slattery's was with Control and a bunch of Local Nu-Metal Types

They supported Entombed/Skinlab in Music Center
The Haunted/Crown in Dorans

Then Headlined an all dayer in the Temple, mostly punk bands but I do recall that was my first time seeing Stand-Up Guy who were ace.

They were ferocious live - the first album didn't pack the same punch. But I'd recommend anyone on the fence pick up the second album Dying From The Inside - it's phenomenal and can be acquired cheaply.

Was at a few there myself, though the only one I can remember was a Ruts tribute album launch. Mad to think of all the punk & metal gigs that happened there, when a few decades earlier bands like Planxty got together downstairs.

I bought "A Conversation Alone" off someone from the old board. Never my favourite album, but has a suitable whiff of piss and vinegar from it.

RIP.

I was at that Ruts tribute gig. The covers CD that came with it is class, the highlight being Strikniƫn DC's fucking animal version of Jah War. Oof. I loved when Strikniƫn brought that dark, reggae element into their own stuff too, like on Wheels of War. They were fucking brilliant live too.

I wonder if when it finally happens, does it feel like it's coming from the inside or the outside
