I JUST WANT TO LISTEN TO A BAND!

All I wanted was a music video.... just one music video...

Not so Much a metal Peeve as a music one, but the whole digital ticket is really getting to me. I started to make my own ones on the pc
just to have as a keepsake/memeory. Even if Ticketmaster etc could give the option to print a ticket after a show that would great. I find it souless just having a barcode on my phone. I mean, couldn't there even be an option on the app to somehow have a ticket printed to collect after the show. rabble rabble  :abbath:

I found a place in Canada that will make physical tickets up for you. The only problem is the template they use is the NA TM style which is very different to the TM ticket style we have here.

I spoke to the owner asked him about doing the Irish TM sent him samples etc. said he would look into it but that was 8 months ago and still only one template available on the site.

I started an excel file a few weeks ago trying to list all the shows I have been to and didn't get tickets for. It's very hard given that nobody has really documented shows that go on here and Facebook pages only go back as far as 2011. Use to be great when the old emerald site had the previous gig listings. Had a look at that Irish metal Archives one that is run by someone on here. It did help a bit but a lot of stuff pre 2010 is missing and its more focused on the cork shows rather than the Dublin ones. Pain in the hole trying to remember some of the ticketless gigs I went to 15 or so years ago. I remember around 2009 for over a year every DME show was just pay on the door.

Is there a site for that place in Canada? I will check it out

I'm not one for festivals but I'm having a look at this Hellfest Hellcity walk through..I mean, it's like some sort of Disneyland for rockers? Sanitised, sterilised, safe space bullshit, blue skies and shorts and brands everywhere. I hate hot weather too so this is literally my idea of a Hell City, so I guess they got it right for me. Slayyyyarghhh!!!

Yeah it does come across as a bit tacky and overwhelming, but a friend who tends to complain about absolutely everything has been twice in recent years and said it's incredibly well organized, with only band clashes being the only peeve.

They've like misting tents to keep folks hydrated too.

Hellfest is without a doubt, and with absolutely no contender, the best 'big' metal festival I've ever been to. Great layout. Great sound. Disney land is right, it's fucking amazing. Forget about the site, even the simplicity of having a massive supermarket just a few mins walk down the road where you can buy cheap booze and affordable healthy food... not many festivals that I know of have such a luxury.

Been to Graspop a few times. It's grand, but doesn't come anywhere close to the Hellfest setup.

I've been to Download once, wouldn't be in a rush to go back. I'd choose Graspop any day over them fucking airplanes waking you up in your tent in the morning when you've just drifted off to sleep. Fuck that.

I've never been to Waken, I've heard it's not as good as it used to be?

They are based in Toronto. I will be over there later in the year so hoping to get my list sorted by then and be able to pick them up in person.

The best thing about it is that a lot of the boundary fence is a trough urinal so you can piss without having to really miss anything or queue for the jacks.

Was a great experience the only time I went. Too bad it's not really a metal festival anymore.

Politics of a pride flag?

Another lame as fuck clothing brand copying band logos, OFC is a pretty obscure one.

Cunts love logos. I've never understood why people willingly and, in fact, pay to advertise some shitty business by having the name in giant letters across their torso, or wherever. Fashionable it may be, stylish it is not and has never been. Band art I get, it says something about the personality and passions of the wearer, but having some often made up designer name, frequently owned by a shell corporation, plastered everywhere, it's just tacky.

Speaking of tack, however, the size of prints on metal t-shirts has gotten progressively bigger over the years to the point where it's almost armpit to armpit. Huge prints like they want to be readable from the space station look shit, it's shouting like somebody typing in all caps, can we roll back to modestly and tastefully sized prints, please?

Yes! This fucking wrecks my heads, verging on all over prints. Even worse when online it has normal sized print then it arrives and the design is blown out ta fuck.

Yep, any subtly gone out the window with a lot of the shirts these days, I got caught out buying a Ride The Lightning tee from that EMP shower and the bottom ends of the Metallica logo were nearly under my armpits. Fucking garish shit. May as well cut holes for your arms in a poster flag and be done with it.
I'll throw in the edgy, alternative models they use on there too.
