Hugh Grant has run them out of the business.

Was reminded this morning of the greatest sax solo of all time, short song but skip to 0:48 if you have no patience.  https://youtu.be/Pt76-vvCGWs?si=K34ljMC9wBKuYR8h

How did I forget about that  oh I know - trauma

 To be fair, it is the right note at least once

My personal favourite starts at about 3:30 here

3 minutes of that and I feel like how the tambourine player looks

Just put in the new washing machine there, the cycle seems to be a lot longer than the old one (8/9 years old) - 3 hrs 40 mins compared to 2 hrs 10 mins. Is that down to newer energy efficiency regulations I wonder? Same wash cycle for both (cotton, 30 degrees).

Yeah, ours is fairly new and takes forever too. My guess was the same as yours re energy efficiency, though I never dug in to verify.

This one has a B rating, no idea about the last one or how good/bad it was.

The energy ratings have changed in the last couple of years for appliances so what was a B could now be an F on the new rating.

I can confirm that new appliances take longer so as to reduce energy and water consumption.

(Note with the new washing machine you might get some pipe hammering due to the rapid shutoff of the valve to control water usage during the rinse cycle etc. I've just installed a hammer suppressor on mine)

Noted, cheers. Haven't used it yet, waiting 'til this evening.

Mine also takes years for the cotton wash. Assumed it was an eco thing myself. Don't forget to run it on the odd 90 degree wash while empty to keep the waste pipe clean

Aye. Should have taken a picture of the outflow pipe on the wall before I put it in, it's a right joke. 2 u-bends on it.

Yep, a bit of hammering alright, I'l be getting one of those.

Bloody super efficient solenoid valves  :abbath:

The one I installed appears to have worked for now.

Ah lads meself and the (apparently grown up now) daughter are having some craic driving the wife up the wall by keeping on asking her to do things that she always asks us to do.

For everything else there's mastercard sort of job

Edit: made her take the cap off my beer and all
