That win felt good. Actually played a bit of ball.

Missed it as I was up in the in laws place.

Spank Luxembourg and put it up to those handsome Portuguese (the women not so much, strangely) and we might give him another run at it.

Yeah I'd be happy with 4 points in the next two, surely would get us third which was the aim at day one.

Meanwhile, the US somehow managed to beat Costa Rica thanks to an own goal. Absolute joke of a campaign. In the six games they've played in the qualifiers, 25 players have made their debuts. Never mind the fact there's already been the CONCACAF Nations League, and the Gold Cup this year, nah, let's start bringing players through during an actual qualification tournament that means something. And then wonder why we lose to Panama. Oh wait, bcause we're more interested in playing our third rate MLS players than the guys who actually play in proper leagues in Europe.
Get qualified first, then you can start pissing around handing Chuck Kickaball his debut.

Steve Bruce gets the chop - hardly suprising, not entirely without reason but yet I feel the man is a bit hard done by. Seems most NUFC fans had the knives out from the start - hard for a local boy to deal with but he also managed Sunderland at one point so...

Some deluded lads on Twitter reckon that Zidane is on his way there. Can't see it.

In other football news - Liverpool tried their best to give me a heart attack again last night. Serious nerve from the referee to reverse the penalty decision.

This statement from Newcastle about the fans wearing Arab headdress at matches is not surprising, but absolutely pathetic.

Are there any Utd fans knockin around at all?

I saw one brave soul knocking about town today in his Utd top.

The misfortune. Pity he isn't on here.

Some spanking handed out. The only plus side to the axis of evil all playing well is that it might make for a decent dash for the line in April/May.

That United Liverpool game was one of the funniest things I've seen. As soccer goes

Just watching the Liverpool/Athletico game on BT and once again I'm thinking ( that means' I'm feeling' , if you're a young one), Steve Mc  Manaman is probably my favourite co-commentator these days, down to earth, objective, humorous ,knowledgable, and a touch of the scally. I'm not a Pool man either.

Not too often someone actually comes out and admits they should be sectioned.
Either that or you've been kidnapped and are trying to alert people without your kidnappers noticing.
