Probably not a lot of fans here but...

The new Death Cab For Cutie record "Asphalt Meadows" is very good, their best since 2008's "Narrow Stairs".

The video for one of the singles - "Roman Candles" - looks insane. All done in one take by Lance Bangs - director of Jackass.

SD Laika - That's Harakiri

Has to be my favourite electronic of all time. I always come back to it. It has everything for me, uses noise in a good way and just all drums and weird synths. Can barely describe it, maybe if Demdike Stare was more satanic and garage based, like a fucked up underground club mixtape or something.

Sam Lee - Wow+

Cool album, very rich and pensive folk.

Presumably not a new discovery to anyone on here but revisited this recently again and it's so damn good

One of my absolute all-time favourite albums. Just perfect.

Great set.

Class.

Came across this in a record shop randomly and seemed like something I should know, but didn't.

Noisy, wonky shoegaze from Copenhagen. Like Polvo and Sonic Youth mixed with something much dreamier like Ringo Deathstarr. It's unreal, fantastic drumming, dense texture, lots of twists and turns.

That's a fuckin mad mix of styles. Not something I'd be inclined towards.

Lol yeah, as that top review on the Bandcamp says "barely listenable in places". I love it though, plenty to dig into.

Collaboration with Sleaford Mods on Orbital's new album.

This'll get ya pumped of a morning. Savage:

Nust check out that Collider, given the Polvo mention, love that band.
Second Portishead is an absolute desert island record for me, total masterpiece, but i've really come around to that third one a lot more recently.

Two of my favourite albums this year have been from 2 reunited 00's post-hardcore bands:

Gospel
The new one is "The Loser" - quick and easy description of this is if The Mars Volta had kept their punk roots and weren't shit. Big 70s prog influence crossed with late 90s screamo/hc bits

City of Caterpillar "Mystic Sisters" - Surprised this is on Relapse?? But yeah, great stuff, if you're unfamiliar think epic punk infused with some nice atmoshperic GYBE type vibes.LONG songs.

First albums by both are highly recommend,
Gospel "The Moon Is A Dead World"

Was only listening to that first Gospel album for the first time earlier this year, it is excellent.

His features are always quality. Pretty sure Frustration were discussed already.
