I have Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" single

We'd have some night, bai!

All we need is that dodgy Swedish one Joey Tempest did...

I kind of agree St Anger isn't Metallica's worst. Just from the fact it generates some entertainment in terms of, 'I genuinely can't believe how bad this is'. Every album after that generated absolutely zero feeling at all. Just completely dead music.

I've said this before on here, but Blood Mountain is awesome. Second behind Leviathan for me. I wonder why it doesn't hit for some people.

Soundgarden
Best: Badmotorfinger
Worst: Prob King Animal, though even it's not bad

Faith No More
Best: The Real Thing
Worst: Sol Invictus

Death
Best: Symbolic
Worst: Spiritual Healing

Motley Crue
Best: Shout at the Devil
Worst: Generation Swine

Husker Du
Best: Zen Arcade
Worst: Candy Apple Grey

Fugazi
Best: 13 Songs
Worst: End Hits

Foo Fighters
Best: Either Nevermind or GI
Worst: The rest

Spiritual Healing?  ??? Is that a case of it just being the least best Death record?

Yeah. I mean in fairness, Soundgarden, Death, and Husker Du are all odd choices for this in that none of them really have any bad albums...

EDIT: actually add Fugazi to that list as well. Wtf was I thinking

I literally couldn't do Death. I don't even think there's one I listen to less than any of the others anymore.

Sepultura
Best: Beneath the Remains
Worst: Roorback

The album that definitively put me off checking any further Greene fronted stuff for years, which it turns out was a pity.

Yeah Roorback wasn't great. Thankfully Andreas & Paulo came up with some absolutely savage stuff after.

Death is easy.
Best: Leprosy - the album that defines death metal for me. That opening riff is so heavy.
Worst: The Sound Of Perseverance - a return to the meandering nonsense of ITP (which isn't far behind it TBH) and Schuldiner's voice just wasn't there at that point. Unlistenable.

Roots is far and away their weakest. Roorback isn't one of their best but it does have its moments.

I'd put Roots second worst.

Opeth
Best: Might have to go Still Life, but they have a few great records tbf.
Worst: Heritage, not because of the style change, the songs just aren't good enough.

Trouble
Best: Psalm 9
Worst: Plastic Green Head - still good, though I never listened to the post-90's stuff.

I'll say it before and say it again - Bill Andrews' playing ruins Leprosy for me. Lacks the technicality that followed him, or the feral energy that preceded.

Spiritual Healing is ahead of it for me due the sonic gold of Murphy's leads vs. Rozz's "look Ma, I did another dive bomb".

TSoP was my favourite for a long time. Bit unweildy in places, but oft, that playing.

Ducky, I love you but Leprosy is fucking flawless. What Andrews does is exactly right for those songs. He's a far more capable drummer than Leprosy suggests, but he got it bang on for the times.
