A bit of craic in this time of oil rises and all kinds of bollocks

Completely subjective but which are the best and worst outputs form the "bigger" bands, studio albums only

I'll start with a few M's

Megadeth
Best - RIP
Worst - Risk

Metallica
Best - MOP
Worst - St. Anger

Motorhead
Best - Ace Of Spades
Worst - Hammered

Let the handbags begin

Load and reload for me are worse than St. Anger especially when you take into account the bands image during the late 90's.

Maybe controversial but Risk is not Megadeths worst record. I'd take it any day over Thirteen, Super collider etc. Megadeth's output post reunion is just different types of scutter. But Risk has a tune or two on it even if it doesn't really sound like Megadeth.

And no, the Loads are better than St Anger, even the fact that Outlaw Torn is there validates that statement.

Hard to pick a worst with some bands because you usually hit a point where you just give up on them, if they stick around long enough. Has anyone outside of Megadeth actually listened to all the post-Countdown albums all the way through? Is that even possible?

Morbid Angel
Best - BATS
Worst - Heretic (Ilud is fucking shite but Heretic has nothing memorable at all)

Kreator
Best - Renewal
Worst - Cause for Conflict or anything thereafter

AC/DC
Best - Powerage
Worst - Flick of the Switch

Maiden

Best = Powerslave
Worst = Virtual X1

AC/DC
Best - Powerage
Worst - Power Up (up until the early 00's it was Flick Of The Switch, which was replaced by Stiff Upper Lip, then Rock Or Bust then by Power Up)

Iron Maiden
Best - Piece of Mind
Worst - the latest one that I call Shitju.

Judas Priest -
Best - Sad Wings of Destiny (it changes a lot)
Worst - Demolition or Nostradamus (hated both on first listen)

Saxon
Best - Denim & Leather
Worst - Innocence / Rock / Destiny (I've no time for any of these)

I think The System Has Failed was the last I listened to... The hardest part of this is thinking of bands that I have listened to all their studio output.   Need to check My Dying Bride and Candlemass but I might still be missing an album or two of theirs...

Judas Priest -
Best - Sad Wings of Destiny
Worst - Ram It Down

Saxon
Best - Strong Arm of The Law
Worst - Destiny

I wish Ram It Down were Priest's worst

For some reason Ram It Down just doesn't click, that drum sound and I can't forgive the pointless cover of Johnny B. Goode

I love Caress of Steel! I'd say their worst is Roll the Bones or the debut. Debut isn't even that bad, just a bit too standard 70s rock

Exodus
Best- Tempo of the Damned
Worst - Force of Habit

Opeth
Best - Still Life
Worst - Pale Communion

Strapping Young Lad
Best - Alien
Worst - Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing
