I'd love to have been going to this but the ticket fuckery at the start just left me to make the decision not to. Fairly jealous this minute missing out though

Quote from: open face surgery on February 21, 2025, 05:38:29 PMNot to take away from anyone's enjoyment but I can't believe so many people are arsed with this. Any clips I've seen are cuntish. Was even offered a free ticket last night.

I seen them two years ago at a festival and they sounded great. I'd love to be going to this gig tonight. Even if only to hang out with some friends that I rarely get to see anymore, because of kids etc and the fact that they don't bother with gigs that aren't bands that they listened to 20 years ago.

There's probably 2 generations of heads that have never heard a Pantera song live before. I'd say the buzz at this will be unreal tonight!

King Parrot- shite

Power Trip - not bad at all

Pantera - deadly

It was fun - they're a good band for a greatest hits set in fairness. I thought Phil, Rex and Charlie were in good form and sounded pretty decent, but Wylde was barely audible from where I was. The visuals were so 90s-era - lots of barbed wire, snake skeletons and weed leaves. It was funny to see some of the footage from their vhs releases too - I forgot that Pantera were almost doing a version of Jackass on those videos back in the day.

It was cool to see Power Trip playing to a large crowd but the sound wasn't so good. I missed the first band.

Definitely saw some fellas coming out of mosh retirement alright

Had a look at the merch as I was coming in - €80 for a hoodie and €45 for a shirt must be a new record.

Yeah I'd like to see Power Trip again somewhere smaller - sound was shit

Pantera we're grand. Had fun but it's not the same. Set was as expected no surprises except Yesterday at the end. Phils in bits. Happy to have seen them but wouldn't be in a mad rush to see them again

You can thank the greedy pricks from live nation aka ticketmaster for that since they demand a cut of every single piece of merch sold by bands in the venue same with the Olympia and plenty of other venues around Dublin. Prices were the same at the Wu-Tang and the Ice Cube / Cypress Hill gigs in 2023. I am nearly sure hoodies were even 80 at the Unholy alliance tour back in 06. I remember being shocked by the merch prices back then.

Wanted to see KP but had to wait for one of my mates who was working since I couldn't transfer the ticket and no ins / outs once you get inside. Got in about 15 mins before Pantera started and all the merch was gone every single Pantera item was sold out. Don't really care as I remember the merch all being shite at the 2023 shows stupid block capital back prints on everything "for the fans and the brothers" etc.

Good show but some amount of pricks in the crowd mainly people constantly pushing trying to get further up in the crowd when clearly there was no room. So annoying and it's why smaller shows are so much better. Great to hear Floods as they only added that to set after the last time I saw them.

I think Phil got mixed up saying the show was the first to sell out as I don't think the Dublin show ever actually did sell out it just got fucked by the dynamic pricing. That's the biggest crowd I have ever seen in the 3 arena for a show that wasn't sold out. Once you hit past as far as the seats went out it was almost impossible to get any closer to the stage.

That was great. Only caught the tail end of KP so can't say much there, thought Power Trip were very good. Pantera exceeded my expectations. Phil was great, not a fan of Wylde tbh but had no complaints otherwise. Setlist was spot on, sound was great and just good craic overall.
Long week at work, completely dosed as well so come 5pm, I was close enough to not even bothering. Glad I went.

Thought Pantera were phenomenal. The first couple of tracks were immense but it felt like they were racing through the set and could at least push it to a 2 hour set.Power Trio were OK.King Parrot were a mess.

Phil, great. Rex, grand. Charlie, perfect tribunte to Vinnie. Zakk Wylde, fuck Zakk Wylde.

Out of curiosity: famously, Wylde isn't operating his own pedals on this tour - 1. Was this the case for DIAMOND Darrell and 2. Is this normal for a touring band of this level?

Really enjoyed it,great nostalgia trip hearing the classics!.I was surprised at the size of the crowd!,must have been the oldest crowd I've seen at a gig!, id say the average age at it must have been mid 40s! .

Place was absolutely heaving last night. Saw 2 fights break out where I was, some spastics just lose the run of themselves.
