Feck sake, my post disappeared...

Basically ND rocked as ever, Barney is some live wire. Totally different set to last time, and the lost hat banter was good fun.

Their tees were €25 but their business model is a pile of shit limiting shirts sold every night to keep for future gigs, rather than arranging reprints as they go around if needed.

Unfamiliar with Crowbar. I thought the sound was ropey for the first 2 tracks and I fecked off to the Green Room for early era earache tunes and a seat to rest the bones.

Full of Hell were on fire, the drummer was savage. Best I've seen them as sound was poor and overbearing previously.

Missed / avoided Brat due to a video seen here, but apparently there were vocal issues so Barney and the FOH singer helped out for a few tracks.

Great gig anyway, roll on River of Nihil and Cynic tomorrow  :abbath:

Quote from: mickO))) on March 04, 2025, 11:46:39 PM€40 for LS and SS shirts were €30. Same price from all the bands. Not surprising as the Academy is another venue that demands a cut of whatever merch is sold.

Not too bad, compared to the 3 Arena anyway.
You'd pay more if you bought online, by the time you got them posted out.

Yeah and at least the majority of the money will go directly to Kirk.

Do you mean the guy that came out during Amber Mote? No idea who he is at first I thought he was in Brat so I looked them up and he wasn't a member. I think he might be in of those Northern bands like the Crawling or something because Dylan mentioned something about one of those NI bands a few minutes before your man came on stage. Maybe it's someone that supported them here previously and they kept in contact.

I didn't find the sound great tonight. The volume felt very low for Full Of Hell. It did improve for Crowbar and Napalm. All 3 bands were great but I think the Napalm set could have been a bit better. He did mention they completely changed it since the last tour it was more like they changed 70% of it. I really have no interest in hearing songs like Cold Forgiveness live and I wish they would drop the Nazi Punks cover because who goes to see a band like ND who have 17 studio albums and they want to hear them do a cover. I had to have easily seen ND 15 - 20 times at this stage and they have played that cover at every show. Same with Biohazrd doing that Bad Religion cover I would much prefer an original song instead.

It was great to hear The World Keeps Turning and I think tonight was the first time I have seen them play that live.

I'd say it was Richard from Unyielding Love. They toured with FoH before.

Thought I'd catch at least some of FOH,but no dice. Just saw the stage being cleared as they finished.

Got stood up on the balcony to the right just at the speakers, perfect view.

Crowbar were savage. It's something that shouldn't really work, the riffs are as basic as basic gets, but it's all about the execution. Laughed at the single pedal Kirk had - a tuner - relative to the big board I saw coming off after FOH. When the tour was announced first, I thought it was co-headline, so was a bit disappointed when I saw the set online a few weeks ago. Would have enjoyed more off Sonic... A lot of that is on me, I could have seen them countless times over the years. Loved it.

Napalm do as Napalm do. The new albums always get rotation for a week on release, but bar The Code... I never end up going back really. All that stuff sounds lethal live. Great set and a great gig.

Saw a few spinkicks in the pits, I know that's a thing that could happen for both Crowbar and ND in the USA depending on their audience, but it went down like a total lead balloon in last night  ;D
