A gang of us were in the bar of the Premier inn before hand,it was like a retirement home for old rockers!.Fellas on crutches, medical boots, fellas limping, walking heart attacks everywhere.

Quote from: Carnage on February 22, 2025, 02:53:31 AMOut of curiosity: famously, Wylde isn't operating his own pedals on this tour - 1. Was this the case for DIAMOND Darrell and 2. Is this normal for a touring band of this level?

Dime had his guitar tech do the squeals during Becoming and most bands at this level have the tech change sounds off stage.

it's quite common. On the hardwired tour Metallica had no pedals on stage and the techs were in full control.

Yeah it's definitely a thing with bigger bands. techs will run the wah pedals

Quote from: Vim Fuego on February 22, 2025, 12:28:04 AMHad a look at the merch as I was coming in - €80 for a hoodie and €45 for a shirt must be a new record.

You can thank the greedy pricks from live nation aka ticketmaster for that since they demand a cut of every single piece of merch sold by bands in the venue same with the Olympia and plenty of other venues around Dublin. Prices were the same at the Wu-Tang and the Ice Cube / Cypress Hill gigs in 2023. I am nearly sure hoodies were even 80 at the Unholy alliance tour back in 06. I remember being shocked by the merch prices back then.

Wanted to see KP but had to wait for one of my mates who was working since I couldn't transfer the ticket and no ins / outs once you get inside. Got in about 15 mins before Pantera started and all the merch was gone every single Pantera item was sold out. Don't really care as I remember the merch all being shite at the 2023 shows stupid block capital back prints on everything "for the fans and the brothers" etc.

Good show but some amount of pricks in the crowd mainly people constantly pushing trying to get further up in the crowd when clearly there was no room. So annoying and it's why smaller shows are so much better. Great to hear Floods as they only added that to set after the last time I saw them.

I think Phil got mixed up saying the show was the first to sell out as I don't think the Dublin show ever actually did sell out it just got fucked by the dynamic pricing. That's the biggest crowd I have ever seen in the 3 arena for a show that wasn't sold out. Once you hit past as far as the seats went out it was almost impossible to get any closer to the stage.
Correct about the pricks in the crowd. Never felt as wedged in there and there was some clown trying to push through every 2 minutes. We weren't even near the front.

Thought Pantera were grand. Cowboys is the only album I really love so setlist wasn't ideal for me, more of a box ticking exercise as I was minus 1 years old the last time they were here.  ;D

I was front centre and I was surprised the levels of mongoism nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. Some woman was pissing people off by jumping on top of them and trying to make them dance was the worst I saw.

Pantera were good - Phil doesn't move much but was in great voice. Power Trip musically were boring as fuck but put on a good show.

Was 93 really the last time they played in Ireland? They didn't come here on the FBD or GST tours? I know all about the foot and mouth problems but I didn't realise they never played here during what you could argue were the best years of the band.

Quote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on February 22, 2025, 02:31:53 AMPhil, great. Rex, grand. Charlie, perfect tribunte to Vinnie. Zakk Wylde, fuck Zakk Wylde.

What did Zakk do? 👀

They were ment to play 2001 but for 911 happening a day or two before!.
Apparently they were in Dublin at the time and all.

I don't know anything about playing an instrument but was Zakk Wylde doing that dive bombing thing he does the whole time and making shit of a lot of the riffs??
Thought Phil was on point and looked fresher than he has in years.....

I don't know much about ZW,I'm not into anything much he plays on;but the guy seems to be hated!
A fella was telling me he was in The Foggy at some point yesterday.

Had a ticket, couldn't go FML etc.
The clips make it seem like it was good fun.
How many would go again if this lineup comes back?
Or is more a case of having had the trip down memory lane that that's enough?

Nah I'd have no interest, last night served it's purpose for me anyway!
