Jealous!Yeah it's quite a lineage.

Haven't gone near the new CL yet cos I haven't had 2 hours to to concentrate in anything, let alone a triple lp

The Eden House playlist. Gothic goodness.

Virgin Prunes- If I Die, I Die...

Such a dark and strange album. Gavin Friday always seemed a bit pretentious when he used to show up on the beatbox, like a rockstar who lacked fame and adulation, but his performance on this album is savage. Sounds to me with my limited experience in this field of music like a more minimal, experimental Killing Joke. It also sounds like it might have been on the decks when Nurse was being recorded.

Followed that up with a couple of songs by Sex Gang Children, a band whose name I recognise but have never listened to. They sound promising. VP and SGC LPs are available from my local record store so I'm weighing it up.

Great album. The 'To Here Knows When - Great Irish Albums Revisited' podcast from a few years back features Gavin discussing the album and the band and post-punk scene in general. He doesn't come off as too pretentious in it.

Post-punk from Dublin. Clatters along - well worth a listen. Assumed that this was their first record... assumed incorrectly.

Deadly man, thanks. I'll give those a listen  8)

NEW MODEL ARMY - UNBROKEN. Another great album by NMA, their quality and great song writing hasn't diminished 4 decades. Absolutely class.

Suede - Autofiction
Seeing them in London last year was one of my best ever gigs !

I've seen one of the lads posting on Facebook about them for a few years now. As they're his young fella's band... we're all old as shit these days, aren't we?

(but aye, they make a decent racket for sure).

Search Results sound good. I'll have to listen to that in full later. The song I listened to didn't meet my expectations of post punk but maybe that's more apparent in other places on the record, but it sounds interesting none the less. Nice raw production on it and the vocals interest me.

Rollerskate Skinny - Horsedrawn Wishes

These lads were often compared to Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips, and their song writing is definitely in the same league, if not better. Fantastic album. Should have been massive.

Fun fact: Jimmy Shields from RS used to be my next door neighbour. Nice fella.

Search Results lp is great.

Currently trying to get my head around  SHEARLING"S "Motherfucker I am both  "Hallelujah" and "Amen" "
New band from two former members of Sprain, so if you're familiar with their last record, it's like that but even more extreme/pretentious/psychotic. If you aren't, think recent Swans on very bad drugs. Or Scott Walker's "Drift". But played by Swans on very bad drugs.

Prefer the earlier Black Flag material but this also hits the spot:

I have always been allergic to Pink Floyd. In the early and mid 90s metalheads around me seemed to drop off the radar by getting into dance music, Brit Pop/ Indie or Pink Floyd so subconsciously I associated these styles with becoming a fucking total sell out! I have slightly modified my view over the years. Very slightly. But today I have an urge to check out Pink Floyd beyond the few hits I know. Any recommendations? I know, or think I know, that the earlier stuff (with Sid Barrett?) is maybe a bit more experimental. Is that right? Learn me, dudes.

If I had to attempt a personal recommendation for you, I might say try Meddle first. And then my personal favourite, Animals.
