Deadly Prey is a must watch if it hasn't been recommended previously.

If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. One of the top reviews on letterboxd is "The uncut gems for mothers"

Accurate.

Rose Byrne definitely earned her Oscar nomination.

Thought it was shite but ya, she's a great actress.

Gangster No.1
So close to being amazing but thought the end section with McDowell was too hammy,  for want of a better term. Was gritty and psychotic up to that.

In bed with a flu at the minute so I needed something my brain-dead brain could switch off to. Stuck on Avatar for the first time since the cinema. Took about 20mins to realize I wasn't that brain-dead and switched it off. Watched High Fidelity instead. Twas awesome, the perfect choice. Not that it's brain-dead, but just that it was hugely entertaining.

Avatar shite. High Fidelity deadly.

The Rock

Found for 1€ and worth every cent. The only Michael Bay movie you need.

I usually can't stand Michael Bay, but Sean Connery makes that film. His gravitas blows everyone off screen!

This masterpiece is on Prime at the minute.

The Man from Earth. More like an episode of The Twilight Zone than an actual movie, someone recently told me it was among their favourite films and enthusiastically recommended it. There are very few people I would recommend it to   If I say, "Phlox is in it!" and that means something to you, then you can count yourself among those few.

Will check it out, so!

Project Hail Mary is fun.

Quote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on March 14, 2026, 12:09:39 PMHad never seen Velvet Goldmine, now I have. Not very good. Feels like a student movie for a lot of it, though the original tunes aren't too bad.

I never even heard of this before. Checked it out last night and I'd agree it's not great and too long as well but the music was great and I liked the original songs they did for it. I think it got that 70s vibe right.
Watched the Tina Turner one after that. Never watched it before and thought it was decent. Laurence Fishburne was good as Ike.

Yeah, Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne are both v good in that.

Caught up on both Annihilation and The Green Knight over the last few days. Enjoyed both, maybe the latter a little more.

Ye, The Green Knight was very good. If you haven't seen it, Monkey Man is a good flick. Dev Patel's directorial debut

I haven't seen it, sound man.
