I'm just glad Marty Supreme didn't win shit last night.

Yeah, arrogant prick not winning Best Actor for his portrayal of an arrogant prick in a film about being an arrogant prick was deeply satisfying. the minute he started giving interviews saying he deserved one surely he knew they wouldn't give it to him.

I was very surprised to even see Bugonia nominated tbh, great film though. Personally I'd have picked Sinners but that's purely just down to how much I enjoyed it. OBAO is grand but I don't really see the fuss over it, and I found it a bit of a slog.

Really need to watch Train Dreams, Secret Agent and Sentimentall value.

Train Dreams is the only one of those I've seen and I liked it.

Watched War Machine there. Very stupid but a bit of craic all the same.

A Switch the brain off movie

Suited me tonight  ;D

Watched Sing Street with the young lad and then I Went Down after. Quality film, up there with the best of Irish cinema.

I love that film, great craic altogether.

Watched Wake Up Dead Man earlier, the latest Benoit Blanc one. Enjoyed it more than the last one for sure. I think the idea was for a trilogy but I'd hope there's another one or two to come.

The Debt Collector (1999) - Billy Connolly's ex-con and Ken Stott's obsessed cop come to a head with tragic consequences. Starts slow, builds well. Not bad.

Having one of those tonight and "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" is doing the job perfectly

I don't even remember how or why Ninja III: The Domination ended up on my watchlist, but it's watched now anyway. Yup, watched is what it now is.

I've been watching the origin story of Sho Nuff on a YouTube channel, so a rewatch of The Last Dragon will be in order. It must be high in the rankings for most 80s movie ever

Peak cinema.

Watched The Zone of Interest yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Great concept.

I love those intentionally daft but nailing it kind of films like Hard Ticket to Hawaii and Ninja III. Hell Comes to Frogtown is another one.

Just watched Lone Survivor there. Pure recruitment porn. It's actually an entertaining enough film, and the intro of Navy Seals recruitment almost achieves in 5mins what Full Metal Jacket did in half a film. It's pure USA marines ra ra bullshit though, and apparently the story is completely made-up nonsense, really far from the truth. The part where the sniper is all, "I am the reaper" as he picks off Afghans is pure American cringe, but I can see how people would go nuts for this film as well.

Think that'll do me for now on this little modern warfare binge I've been on.

A classic! Rewatched Malibu Express a few weeks ago.
