Haven't had the chance to check it out, definitely looking forward to it and have it ordered. Think the only thing that's got me a bit worried is there's a lot of key folks at Rockstar that left since V & RDR2 that might affect some of the old magic. But if I knock 100+ hours out of it I'll be happy.

Replayed V as they made the next gen up date free and it's still great, although once you get to Trevor you see how poor the writing/performance was for Michael & Franklin.
Stephen Ogg goes all out with it.

I still miss the darker tone IV had.

Yeah, 4 was great.
With 5, I dunno, maybe it was the interplay between 3 main characters that put me off a bit. I agree, the Franklin character was quite weak.

I'm 46 now and while I'm far from an avid gamer, stuff like this still blows my mind. Obviously younger generations can't be expected to appreciate the jump from the 8bit era to what we have now. Again, it may be misguided nostalgia or having too much of a good thing, but sometimes I feel like the sandbox element of modern games has detracted somewhat from the overall experience. The big exception to me is the last two Zelda games, where I could happily pass many hours just pissing about and exploring. A minor gripe I suppose.

One thing that Rockstar are great at is putting the brakes on, they don't want folks getting to the third act in the first day. Hardware limitations was a reason from 1-IV, but nailed it on V and by the time you got the RDR2 you had young wans bitching about the start of it being too slow as COD/Fortnite had fucked attention.

CDPR figured it out with Witcher 3 & Cyberpunk too. Take your time, get your money's worth.

Since the Witcher 3 Remaster just came out, I decided to give it another go. For whatever reason it never clicked with me in the past but I'm definitely enjoying it a lot more on this playthrough. Cyberpunk is still CD Projekt Red's best game for me though

I know it was done to drum up interest in The Witcher 4 but it's incredible fan service that a decade on there's a new DLC in the pipeline and an extensive remaster that existing owners of the game can get for free

Having not had a modern console since the Xbox 360, I just bought a new Xbox today. Partially as a way to connect with some friends back home, and partially because I want to play the new GTA (and Baldur's Gate). Now I have to try and figure out what has happened in gaming after a 15yr absence...

That's some mission you'll have on your hands. Take it nice and slow dude. Sure GTA is out in 5 weeks so pick up something cheap in the meantime. Cyberpunk might do the job. Just a thought. Either way, happy gaming

Yeah I don't want to get a quarter way into Baldur's Gate and then have to stop to start playing GTA along with everyone else. I suppose I could dick around with things like Fortnite or the Marvel one in the meantime. Saw a pirate game that looks pretty fun for banter with your mates, Sea of Thieves?

Either way, open to suggestions!

And yeah Cyberpunk looks awesome from the couple of videos I watched.

Haven't played Sea Of Thieves but I'd say it's grand for fucking around with for a while with some friends. That should keep you going til November 19th

Maybe the remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag? My favourite in the franchise and the Caribbean looks stunning in it.

Are you gonna fork out for the Game Pass? It's gone up in price quite a bit over the years but I still think it's worth it, and there's a huge library available.
If not, there's still loads you can pick up for quite cheap in its physical format, such as Red Dead Redemption 2. The Resident Evil 4 remake is still amazing and holds up well, even if you played the original to death.

Red Dead 2 is so good. That's a 100 hour game though. Or more. Definitely worth the purchase. Easily my favourite game of all time. Good call on Resident Evil

Has anyone ever bought a refurbished console from cex?
Is it pure luck if the draw or are they tested to the hilt?
The new ones are so expensive!

It's insane how expensive gaming has gotten. Definitely tge biggest victim of the rampocalypse. Glad I got my Steam Deck when I did

King & Araya are the DJs for the metal station in GTA6.
